Background:
The area where Thorek grew up was under constant pressure by drow of the underdark. As a result Thorek and many other young dwarves were forcefully recruited into the military. He was chosen to be a scout in training and taken away from his blacksmith apprenticeship. He showed great promise during training and looked to be on the path of a rapid progression through the ranks and his family was really proud of his hard work.

His first mission after having finished his training took him and his squad to the borderlands. It was supposed to be a routine scouting mission but they got waylaid by the drow. Most of his squad got decimated and the survivors, including Thorek were taken as slaves.

Manual labor and back breaking work was his life for the next two years until the dwarves launched an attack on the outpost where he was stationed. Feeling that he had shamed his family he escaped the underdark during the commotion and then later the underground all together to try and find himself a new life on the surface. The following years he was attached to several mercenary bands, offering his scouting services where it was needed and resorting to hunting during peacetime. In dire need of coin he has even taken assassination contracts.

His life has left him with very few traits in common with his kinsmen, he still remembers to hold a grudge against someone though.

Goals:
- To establish both personal and proffessional relationships in the Baldurs Gate area.
- Hunt and slay mighty monsters.
- Aquire coin, the more the better.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
- Has aquired a ring and a necklace of a former Baldurs Gate Thieves guild member (Spot check DC: Pretty impossible, don't think there's any members around from that period)
- Have been a part of many mercenary companies.
- Is a bit of a conversationist.
