Sshamath mourns the loss of one of it's most famous arcanists, the great conjurer Phaly'zan passed away today, some even say of old age. The Conclave has issued a statement saying that they mourn the loss of Phaly'zan, and that they will miss his counsel.

Phaly'zan was one of Sshamath's foremost experts on planar travel, and was said to have an "immense" knowledge of the other planes of existence and it's denizens.

Several of Sshamath's other arcanists are now trying to divine the location of the famed conjurers home, in search of books of power and other valuable items they could dream of.

Recently several portals have been seen appearing and disappearing in Sshamath, before anyone manages to get close it vanishes and appears somewhere else.
The Charnag Maelthra and the City guards are keeping watch, to prevent anyone from attempting to enter these portals, while the Conclave's wizards are attempting to locate the source of the problem.

The Arcanist known as Zaravir has hired a group of adventurers to enter one of these portals, and retrieve a valuable artifact. He claims he has the ability to stop one of the portals long enough for the group to enter. If the group manages to return with the artifact, they will get a powerful trinket from him, and they are free to help themselves to any treasures they might find on their journey.

Wild portals, hmm...? Well I suppose I can spare some time on this if I get to keep what we find... *Xunae smirks in slight amusement*

However, she has been unable to enter such a portal; due to the fact that when she gets close it simply vanishes. Word has gone around Sshamath a arcanist by the name of Zaravir is looking for adventurers to enter one fo these portals.)) Arnaut lets his lips curl into a sly smile as he reads the notice. It has been an eventful week already, yet it seems that there may still be some excitement left to mine from it. Well, anything to break the boredom of city politics and the dread of that killing in the market the other cycle. A shadow crosses his handsome features as the dark elf considers the signs of The One That Lurks. He has crossed path with the followers of The Elder Eye in the past and should they gain a foothold in Sshamath Arnaut is all too aware what type of chaos and destruction is likely to be loosed here.

First things first though, there is an artifact to track and abilities to gauge if this notice is to be believed. Arnaut saunters off to gather some supplies.

If dos are on about portals, dos WILL need a pactmage in dosst group - says the female voice approaching from behind Zaravir. Xercia approaches the faern shaping a ball of raw magical energies displaying visions inside.

The lower planes can be... very unwelcoming... to those without friends of immense power already in place. - says Xercia dispelling the orb. Usstan hope, dosst gratitude does naut end in mere trinkets...

Portals? One might wonder where those might lead. Surely, not even a faern would cause a portal to appear over a boiling acid sea. . . surely. Oh, well. Might as well do something more exciting to earn some coins, than farming those damn mushrooms. These were the thoughts of Nawiel Jr'eine, as she signed herself on, at the last second.
