Weapon of Choice: Ebreth favors the staff for walking and utility but if forced to defend himself, he assumes the shape of animals to defend himself. He favors the boar.
Background: Ebreth was the apprentice shaman for his tribe for decades before a new High Seer mysteriously rose to power after the unexplained disappearance of the previous High Seer. The new high seer entrenched himself in the politics and spiritual life of the tribe quickly by bringing unprecedented prosperity and vitality to the tribe. Borders were expanded, the groves flourished, and Ebreth was looked on favorably and groomed for ascent when the time came for the old shaman to step down.
But that was not to be.
Over the decades, the new High Seer slowly changed and twisted the peaceful and joyous customs and practices of the tribe to barbarism and bloodshed. Rituals of rebirth and vitality gave way to competitions of power and bloodshed. Ebreth became deeply troubled not only by the changes he noted in his tribe, but also by the apparent indifference of many of his kin to the change. There were dissenters, to be sure, but they often had accidents or undertook long journeys from which they never returned.
It was in one such festival, the Festival of Blood, that Ebreth was called upon to fitght another youth from his tribe. He bested the youth, but when he stood to claim victory, the High Seer orded that he strike the youth down where he lay. Ebreth refused and defied the High Seer before the entire tribe.
Only his esteemed position with so many in the tribe saved his life. He was beaten and exiled to the wilds. He wandered the misty wood alone and on the brink of death when, by chance, a large boar found him lying prostrate in a field of truffles. The boar snuffled and rooted around the elf, finding truffle after juicy truffle by him. Satisfied, the boar curled up beside Ebreth and felll into a deep sleep. Roused by the activity, Ebreth was able to eat some of the uprooted truffles and regain his strength.
He left the Misty Forest then, and headed south. He was accompanied by the boar whom he named Ura. He went to the elves of the Sword Coast, hoping to find those among them who could save his tribe from themselves.
Goals:
Remove the High Seer from power and release his tribe from his influence.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
