I am trying to figure out how to get my drow ranger to serve lolth, but I do not see a way. Am I missing something?

Kruzr - Lolth is not a goddess of nature.

Druids and rangers need to get spells from nature deities.

IN FR's setting that is how it happens. Some books will show rangers/druids of Lolth, but that is from the world of grey hawk.

However, rangers technically can be of Lolth as long as they don't get divine spell casting, but the way the game has the class set up you would have to do a lot of work to make this happen.

All right, well there seem to be no legal ranger drow deities that I can serve. Does that not matter?

Actually, per lore, rangers can be supported by gods that aren't nature gods. Dove Falconhand is an example of this.

Yes you are right, you can be a ranger without choosing a nature god. But you get no spells.

Dove worships Mielikki -- but is a chosen of Mystra. I don't care what the FR Wiki says it is wrong.

To the OP:

This used to work in singleplay:
Start as ranger then take a splash of cleric (now you get to choose diety again, might work with fs too?) and continue with ranger levels.

Mission accomplished.

Isn't that a mechanical way to bypass choosing a deity suitable for a ranger?

You are wrong, Rangers of Bane do get spells. To get the spells, a ranger has to follow any deity.

I'm making a ranger/assassin/aa and I really would like to follow lolth so I can have a chance at some fun RP. Any recommendations as who to follow to suit sshamath rp?

If the thing that for some reason your ranger has abilities that are weird for closed cave, then go ahead. Or try Cave Stalker.

Per the FR book it clearly states above in the image that rangers that don't worship a nature deity do not get spells. No need to argue this unless the FR lore is wrong.

Well, the above image only says that druids must choose nature deities. It doesn't say that about rangers. In fact, the last sentence on rangers says that rangers and druids have similar preferences for deities, but some rangers with odd interests choose different patrons.

Edit: Yes, without a patron deity, the ranger does not get spells. But the image does not say that the patron deity needs to be a nature deity.

Indeed.

Well I guess if a Patron Deity just means any god than yeah rangers should be able to pick anyone including Lolth, Vhaeruane, Selvetarm, Eilistareee, and Kiranaslee.
