Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

A group of adventurers assembled with plans to explore Durlag's Tower. The group consisted of Darvius, Master Monk of the Old Order. Trisdon Ebonhawk, Scholar and Archmage. Dandon Finli, expert at traps and kukuri. Kalidor Kensington, Paladin and Morninglord. Finally, Elvorfiwien Ha'Maline, elven warrior. The group assembled originally with the desire to aid Darvius in searching for relics of his ancient order, which he hoped to discover inside the Tower guarded by a fierce black dragon.

After a long travel to the tower, and avoiding the deadly basilisks outside with clever use of invisibility magic. The five adventurers entered the tower to face displacer beasts, mindflayers, drow, and deadly traps. After many battles and trials they came to the dragon's lair. Their plans were made and soon a deadly battle ensued. The Dragon and its shadow fiend companion were eventually defeated some serious wounds dealt to the group, but no casualties. The treasure searched, but unfortunately only gold was to be found no relics or artifacts of any nature. The group soon set itself to depart. As they made it to the exit Darvius revealed to them that he in fact had discovered the artifact he had searched for it was not as he had originally thought an item, but instead an ancient technique that had unlocked within his soul during the climactic fight with the Dragon. He closed his eyes in concentration and the group was amazed as his entire body suddenly erupted covered in magical flames. The group soon exited the tower, promises of friendship and new alliances formed.

Darvius sat in the Belching Dragon Inn in Nashkel awaiting Elvorfiwien and any others who had heeded his call to adventure inside the mines of Nashkel. For years the Mine had been overrun with monsters, and he intended to discover the cause. Soon he would be joined by Elvofiwien, and a new companion Jax a large human favored by the gods with divine magic. Two silent elven rangers would also join him, though one would disappear mysteriously soon after they entered the Mine. In addition inside the mine the wizard Jacho would meet up with the group.

The descent through the mines was long and filled with battles Oorogs, Dark Dwarves, and large stone creatures plagued their every step. After hours of travel, the mines began to grow unnaturally hot and eventually they came to a pool of lava a large flaming demon standing on the bridge to cross it. The battle was fierce and the demon felled through magic and might of arms. The journey continued even deeper where a large flaming portal was discovered. Stepping out of the Portal was a Balor demon from hell the massive creature brought with it a succubus, little time for more preparations the battle was joined. The adventurers proved victorious with some grievous wounds and a couple casualties though all were able to be healed through divine magic. However, the Portal was unable to be closed the adventurers they would have to research and discover a method of closing it at a later date. The immediate threat for now being defeated the spoils were collected, and the group departed back to the surface.
