Utterdark blast and The Dead Walk.
I have noticed that Utterdark blast does not heal the undead you can summon with the dead walk.
I was wondering if this is a bug that the staff might be able to look at and fix?

When staff updated "the dead walk" I was uber-excited to use it as a tank while I shot utterdark doom on them all. *Sighs* No good.
This has "No Saving Throw" written all over it...

is this intentional as it's deemed too strong? I was wondering the same a while back.

Re: Utterdark blast and The Dead Walk.
did utterdark heal undead before?
and it really cant be an issue with power because the skeleton warlocks get from dead walk is fairly weak if i remember right, only like 10HD or so
but for some reason i dont think utterdark was ever negative energy (actual negative energy) and it just had the level drain attached to it on a save, could be wrong tho

would need to see its character sheet, if its race is still undead, which it should be, then it should get healed if utterdark does negative energy

Re: Utterdark blast and The Dead Walk.
i found this answer.. somewhere
In NWN 2 game mechanics... negative energy actually just damages undead just the same as it does any living. Some spells work only because they've been separately scripted, the damage type hasn't.

Because in a way, elementals are neither alive nor dead?

Re: Utterdark blast and The Dead Walk.
I think utterdark was always negative energy with the level drain and it was supposed to heal undead.
You'd think the level drain would be going off on your skeleton though..

Re: Utterdark blast and The Dead Walk.
undead are immune to level drain so it wouldnt matter
i know the new negative energy spells do heal undead, i use them on my necro
but yea i didnt think utterdark ever healed undead even tho it was suppose to, maybe it could be fixed tho?
can ask ras...
