Background: Mortis is not his name, but it is what he uses to protect his identity. Mortis hails from Menzoberranzan. He is the only remaining member of a now forgotten minor House. Mortis, who was merely 25 years of age, entered Sorcere, the mage academy of Tier Breche. Mortis spent 30 years at Sorcere, as do all male drow Wizards, where he showed great intellectual promise and was at the top of his class. His family, who craved power and, above all, recognition, had high hopes for the young Mortis. Those hopes were never realized. His House was destroyed, and Mortis never graduated from Sorcere, but to save his own life he fled into the Underdark. He would not have lasted long had it not been for his captors. Mortis was taken by a company of Duergar and enslaved. For three years he endured hard labor under his captors watchful eyes. After three years had passed, Mortis was sold to an Illithid who would use him to practice some evil art of bending minds. The Illithid traveled from town to town in the Underdark trading his wares and collecting "specimens". It happened one day that a company of Drow Wizards came across the Illithid and his slaves. They slew the Illithid and all his slaves, all except for Mortis. When they saw he was a drow, they spared him. Very little enrages a drow male of Sshamath more than a drow male who has been enslaved by a lesser race. The drow mages returned to Sshamath with the now young adult drow. As Mortis showed an amazing talent for the Arts, he was admitted to the Sshamath school of wizards under the direct training of the Master of Illusions, Felyndiira T'orgh. For 15 years Mortis studied and served Felyndiira at the Academy. He resented her, mostly because she is a female, but also because Mortis believes he is far superior to her in his potential to become great. Mortis also believes that she has personally, and purposefully, held his progression back, and because of this he greatly desires her downfall. Mortis believes that males should rule the Arts and the Underdark and that women have no place in leadership in the city of Sshamath. It is now his goal to relieve Felyndiira from her post and assume the mantle of Master of Illusion and Phantasm.

Goals: Become the Master of Illusion and Phantasm and join the Conclave of Sshamath

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Anything that could deal with conflict between Mortis and Felyndiira T'orgh, the current Master (Mistress) of Illusion and Phantasm. Mortis also resent females because of his youth in Menzoberranzan. He is mostly consumed with becoming more powerful.
