Race: Human
Age: 26
Height: 6'1" (184 centimeters)
Weight: 175 pounds (79 kilos)
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Bald
Facial Hair Style:
Personality Profile: Almost always friendly, Merryl is rather easy to approach if one can get past her bald head and scar-ruined looks. She speaks easily and frankly, and has the tendency to give people who she likes rude or simplistic nicknames to indicate her affection. Her soldiering still sticks with her to this day, and she loves a good fight, but will easily anger if she sees innocent people being hurt, or even hears of people looking down upon people other than herself.
General Health: Healthy as an ox
Deity: The Triad, mostly Torm and Tyr
Initial Alignment: Neutral Good
Profession: Adventurer, ex-Soldier
Base Class & Proposed Development: Fighter, Fighter/Weapon Master/Rogue
Habits/Hobbies: Nicknaming, polishing her sword and armor, making crude jokes, finding random people to recruit for adventures, talking, fighting, being helpful, carrying elf girls who insist upon paying her back for Merryl resurrecting them.
Languages: Common, Dwarven, Orcish
Weapon of Choice: Bastard Sword
Background: Born as a simple farmer girl on the outskirts of Neverwinter, Merryl used to be nothing special in this world--and if you ask her, she's still nothing special. One thing that separated her from her parents and siblings, however, was her love of heroic tales and her wish to someday, somehow, get out of her simple life and adventure. Of course, her growth as she grew older only helped--she became big and bulky from days of hard work, her skin darkened, and she became uncomfortable around her family--particularly her pretty young sisters.
Thus, when she came of age, she signed herself away to become a member of Neverwinter's armies. For years she remained, though she never really ascended beyond being a simple sergeant. She'd soon found her heart just wasn't in it; taking orders, fighting fights that seemed meaningless. Her work was hardly heroic. When the time finally came that she could muster out, she did so gladly.
Of course, mustering out left her with only her armor, a sword, and little coin. With no other ideas, she began wandering. Towards Baldur's Gate she went, hearing tales and rumors of powerful adventurers and fantastic riches, and she can only hope she can get the same thing...
Goals: To adventure. To see spectacular things and fight horrible monsters. Merryl is a simple girl, and it's quite clear to see by the way she acts. Similarly, though she doesn't say much about it, she does have a habit for trying to get people into adventuring groups with her...
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Merryl wants to create the adventuring party from stories--the fighter, the wizard, the rogue, the cleric, and the like--to have epic adventures with. Despite the fact that this is extremely childish, mentioning so is likely just going to make her laugh and wave the comment off. Getting her into conversation is quite easy--just don't mind if she inadvertently insults something or someone, particularly with her nicknames.
