Scholar seeking bloodline assistance

A notice is posted on the board outside the Elfsong Tavern. The script is sharp but elegant and in red ink.

Greetings fellow seekers of knowledge,

My studies have led me down a path about which I admittedly have little experience. I find myself in need of bloodline information for the distant city of Westgate on the Sea of Fallen Stars. Any with this knowledge, or a lead to persons with such, should reach me at the inn behind this board. Pleaee leave a message with the waitstaff if I am not present... I'm likely researching the subject in the Candlekeep archives.

My research stipend is small, but if coin is your pleasure, a payment can be made. I would much prefer to trade in knowledge or favors. Either way, you will have my thanks.

Signed,
Malanis Everdark

A note is left with the waitstaff, by a certain Reader Hoihe Dacino of Candlekeep.

"Greetings, good seeker of knowledge.

I consider myself rather a keen person when it comes to bloodlines, but of the uncommon kind. Can you specify what sort of bloodline question you possess?

I can tell you if you had a draconic or an equally special ancestor from generations back, and also tell you the colour. I can also help with the other supernatural bloodlines.

I fear I can not help with mundane family-tree information.

An envelope arrives in Candlekeep a couple days later via courier, addressed to Hoihe:

Thank you for the reply, good sir. The bloodline in question is undoubtedly planar in nature, though which plane, I'm unsure. I suspect one of the lower ones. Perhaps narrowing that down will help with the research? Discovering the familial lineage and from where, and whom, their power comes is my true goal... All things in time.

I mean to leave for Candlekeep in a few day's time. Perhaps we can discuss the matter over dinner one evening?

Signed,
Malanis

A reply is carried to the Friendly Arm's Inn, and been ordered to intercept Malanis.

It reads:

"I do believe I can help, yes. I will need to have a sample of the blood for study, however, if you do not mind.

I look forward to a discussion
