sigh...
one thing that really upset me, my level 19 wizard is not able to add any magic damage to his crossbow attack... lvl nine magic, and i cant come up with a way to add some magical damage to a weapon i have mastered?
i digress.
i found a way to add this damage, but at the cost of AB, AC, and possibly my dignity.
is anyone else aware of a way to add magic dammage to crossbows, and maybe other ranged attacks? i know heavy crossbow works with it, have not tested any others. is this a dead horse?
if not a dead horse, the trick is this...

He is not being to subtle about a certain exploit. I would tell you but that would just lead to trouble. The DMs should already be aware and if they aren't, they can PM me and I will give them the exploit I know of.

"Tricks" are often exploits in disguise, yes. Just to be sure you're not breaking any rules, could you PM the DMs about this? I want to be sure you're discussing what we think you're discussing.
If you do not PM us, and we catch it, and determine that it is indeed an exploit, you can lose a lot of levels for it. Generally "if it feels like an exploit, it is an exploit."

You can cast Enlarge spell on yourself and gain +3 Magic damage to your crossbow attacks.

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/enlargePerson.htm <- This is the PnP version of the spell.
The Important Part:
All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly enlarged by the spell. Melee and projectile weapons affected by this spell deal more damage. Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any enlarged item that leaves an enlarged creature’s possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown weapons deal their normal damage, and projectiles deal damage based on the size of the weapon that fired them. Magical properties of enlarged items are not increased by this spell.
Hence, because the size of your crossbow has grown, the projectiles it shoots deal more damage. Therefore, in based on PnP, it is not an exploit.
However, if we stick ourselves to the NWN2's spell description, we have the following line:
While using melee weapons there is also a +3 bonus to damage.
We could say that it is.
But personally, I would say it is not. It is just +3 damage, or +6 with Manyhost, and you still gain that -2 dexterity penalty, not to mention that -1 on AB and AC. I think you might be able to negate the dexterity penalty with Deathward, but you will still suffer the AB and AC penalties.

double damn!!
oh well it must be one of the weapon enchanncing spells that went goofy.. wizards dont have any other spells enchancing then GMW, blades of fire, bladeweave and blackstaff so its one of them (we already mentioned enlarge)
unless tensers went goofy but i used it with a shortbow of magic so i guess that spell's ok
