You're still preoccupied of counterspelling... + HIPS

1) I started to use counterspelling and I find it amazing. But, after I counterspelled a spell, I got the yellow message shown in the title, and I don't understand if that message got any effect or if it's just something I can ignore.
2) Entering counterspell mode will delete my HIPS status, so I return visible. Is it right? Maybe one should remain hidden till he effectively do something, since entering the counterspell mode does nothing till you've effectively countered a spell. Thoughts?

I agree, the counterspelling as the mechanic is merely the PnP equivelent of the player deciding to use his next spell to counterspell the incoming one, and in reality does nothing until actual counter spelling is done.

You have, but only when you're actually copunterspelling something, not when deciding that maybe in 10 minutes you'll counterspell a spell.

Counterspelling, as in the feat, is an OOC mechanic and OOC action, with nothing IC related to it at the moment of activation. It's just like setting someone Hostile, allowing future mechanics to work properly.
