Baldur's Gate : The Sword Coast Chronicles : NWN2 Persistent World

Steel rings out as three adventurers, a paladin, druid, and fighter, fight there way past duergar and orog alike to reach the Nashkel Iron mines. The Duergar Commander calls out all of his guards and their hounds as well in a vain attempt to stop them.

In a short time it becomes obvious there are more foul things here then duergar.

The three carry on despite a drain on their strength, will, and fortitude. The druid attempts to calm the hounds through any means he can however the moment he shows such resolve they fall dead unable to resist the force of a foe not yet seen.

Only meet the most powerful foe yet.

Once the powerful duergar is slain the dwarven fighter quickly goes about defiling the its corpse in the most insulting way he can think of. He cuts its beard off. The adventerers exhausted from such a powerful enemy and facing the Balor still, pray to their gods and are answered. In a truly divine gift they cut the balor down in a fury of anger and justice.

His ruined body calls out to them as it slips back to the hellz. "In death I will destroy you". The chamber bursts with fire and all hope seemed lost. . . .

The three receive a gift too precious to share.

The Angel leaves them to mortal troubles.
