What little one might gather, however, is that he could be a scion from one of the powerful noble families in the famed City of Splendors but subsequently disowned for his decision to pursue a monastic profession.
Arlan has always been drawn to the tenets of the Morninglord for as long as he can remember. He tries to embody the spirit of creativity, renewal and vitality in his manner, lifestyle and outlook in life. One reason why monkhood (and the unarmed combat style) is so appealing to him is its emphasis on self-sufficiency and self-perfection. “No weapon, no armor, just you and the indomitable spirit within.”
