Background: Faeyah was raised in a lower class Moon-elf class, who served some Sun elves, but was originally born in the High Forest. Her name came from the extraoridnary event of her birth, when she was swaddled and handed to her mother after her birth, her parents used to tell her that a Faerie appeared and kissed her once in the middle of her forehead. Faeyah was named after the Fae Folk, her parents believing that she was destined for greater things than her birth would allow.
She was sent as a child to live with her extended family for twenty years to be trained in a combat skill, the moon elves being a more nomadic race made it hard for her parents to keep contact, since they served the sun-elves, and did stay in one place. When she returned, she found a job being a maid to one of the younger female sun-elves named Solarnia.
The first few years the girls would bicker and did not get along at all, but after an incident where Faeyah saved Solarnia's life from an angry wolf, strayed too far into the city, they were able to put their differences aside, and played and laughed as little girls do. Faeyah and Solarnia grew up becoming more like sisters than having a servant/mistress relationship. One of the fondest memories of Faeyah's childhood was watching a shadowdancer perform on stage, dancing in time with her shadow in such a masterful display that hours melted away. Faeyah learned many things about caring for others from Solarnia.
When Faeyah was 87, she left one day on an errand that the master of the house, Cernioum, needed for her to take care of. She was gone for a week, and when she returned she found the signs of a Drow raid. She looked everywhere for her friend and parents, and found her parents sliced beyond recognition, and found Solarnia tied to a bed, barely clinging to life. Faeyah Cried bitterly as she cut the bonds on Solarnia's wrists and ankles, and tried to speak with her. Her friend's mind had been broken though, Solarnia, or what was left of her was a husk of her former self.
Faeyah took care of Solarnia's body, thinking that her soul would return eventually, but Solarnia wasted away slowly in Faeyah's care due to eating so little and drinking hardly at all. When Solarnia finally left this world, she had one last lucid moment, she told Faeyah that it was indeed the drow that attacked, smiled, caressed Faeyah's cheek, and died in her arms.
Faeyah was so distraught with the death of her last tie to sanity that she burned down the elven-mansion, packed what supplies she could and set out. She killed mercilessly in a blood-rage, ate meat, and became feral for a while. She finally was found by a ranger, who shook some sense into her, and calmed her.
She travelled with him, learning further the ways of the bow, and how to speak to and even befriend animals. She also learned the complex languages of the Dragons and the Sylvans. His name was Beren-Galas, a half-elf. She travelled with him until she was 118. On the eve of her 119th birthday, they were moving through the forest when they were jumped by some human guards, they told Beren-Galas and Faeyah to lay down their weapons.
They did so, and the guards then told them to empty their pockets, Faeyah watched nervously as they confiscated everything but the clothes that they wore. They then proceeded to beat the half-elf Beren-Galas within an inch of his life. On her birthday he finally succumbed to a fever from his wounds. Faeyah is now Wary of all guards of the realm, and would never wish to become one. in the middle of her 120th year she stumbled into the lands of Baldur's gate with a caravan that she had been walking in tandem with.
Goals: Faeyah's long standing dream is to become a Shadow-dancer, and to be able to dance with her shadow the way that she saw the one woman do when she was a child. She was taught the ways of the bow and sling from Belen-Galas and her uncle before her, she strives to pour everything that she has for her martial talent into the endeavor of becoming the best bowman in the land. She has a goal to meet new people in the place that she has met, though she is quick to distrust, and is quite skittish if approached openly, she will sit back and observe a group before she makes an entrance, and then will be quite happy and warm, trying to seek a new friend.
She recently met a few travellers that she would like to get to know better, and would like to pursue a crush or two that she has on a couple of them.
She has a wish to see another dragon after a great bronze wyrm landed in a field and spoke with her, telling her a tale about the old days and about far off deserts.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
She recently found a panther cub that was wounded, cared for it, and now Gromr, his name is, is following her in her adventures.
She has a natural distrust of guards, and a hatred of drow.
She has only ever tasted alcohol in the company of her new friends, and that is only very recently.
She wants to become a Shadowdancer, and will do anything to catch a whiff of other shadowdancers.
She follows the god Solonor Thelandira
She wishes to get revenge on every last Drow for the death of her family, and her friend Solarnia.
She will protect the innocent and the helpless even if it is against the law, and sometimes she will break the law for spite of the guards, she does not break laws, though, that hurt anyone.
