  • 1. Thou must use capital letters and fullstops. The only exceptions to this are Lockonnow, and Borton.
    2. If there is more than two players wishing to interact with any of my characters, you must elect a representive amongst yourselves to manage the interaction.
    3. Thou shall not roll a dice, if thou knows not how to formulate the appropriate DCs.
    4. Thou shall not ask me to join a DM event, but warning me of them is greatly favoured.
    5. Thou shall not try to initiate partying if you encounter my character in a cave, ruin, temple, or dungeon. Adventurers party up in Inns and Taverns. Just leave the place, if I am not leaving myself.
    6. Thou shall be warned once, or twice, OOC:ly if your behaviour has dire IC consequences. If you do not heed the warnings, do not blame me if you get in trouble later.
    7. Thou shall not initiate a contest of insults if thy dare not face my barrage of insults back at thee.
    8. Thou shall be smart when initiating PvP.
    9. If thou has something against me as a player, you shall inform me of it using the following template: "Hello. My name is '__Your_Name__.' You '__How_I_Have_Wronged_You__.' Prepare to die."
According to Maecius we can have guidelines how people should interact with our characters. So, feel free to post yours.

1. Stay in-character
2. Have fun
3. Feel free to make use of "tells" during or after an RP encounter to thank one another for the RP

you can ask folks whatever you choose, but you cannot make anyone do more than the server rules require

for my characters it's easy. i don't ask for your first born, or a written application

all i ask is that you follow server rules

i play an adventurer. as such, playin him, i seek out adventure and rp. following the server rules gives me that

Hahahahaha :).

Well, I have only one thing to say: I am not in anyone else's head. So talk to me.

The thing I find most displeasing is when the other players feel slighted by their fellow RPers, but they dont say anything. They just become vitriolic IC and OOC. Instead of eating your liver, talk. Send a tell. Every situation can be solved by: "Hey, fellow player, this conversation's outcome/RP direction/PvP outcome/whatnot are not of my liking. Could we change accordingly, please?" Done.

1) Keep yourself inside the boundaries of FR lore (like, say, making a Chaotic Evil orc follower of gruumsh instead of a Lawful Good orc of Tyr)
2) Avoid OOC crap
3) Don't be a munchkin
4) Don't be a 5 y.o. jerk that starts whining as soon as I frag him in pvp
5) The Underdark sucks. It's not hearsay, it's science. But if you DO roll an UD character, have the brass stones needed to stick to your decision instead of always rushing to the surface for grinding. Bonus points IF you avoid whining and griefing once someone asks you to remove your mask or kills you.
6) if you get wasted in pvp (regardless of getting killed or not), ROLEPLAY THE GO**AMN CONSEQUENCES!

This is not against lore. It is improbable, not impossible. I really don't understand why people are so upset about this. Besides, I haven't actually met any Lawful Good orcs of any of the paladin gods. I have met some half-orcs, but that is definitely not against the lore.

An orc favoured (clerics, druids, etc...) of Silvanus, on the other hand, should be impossible (read: Silvanus' dogma).

[rant] (we need a rant tag!)
Look, I know that some people on the server continually claim to be against "snowflake characters", but they always complain about one particular kind of "snowflake". Some complain about good orcs, some complain about good drow (which isn't a snowflake, and certainly doesn't mean they are drizzt copies), some complain about constantly drunken and inappropriate dwarves, evil aasimar, lawful and/or good tieflings, and so on...

Why shouldn't people play improbable characters if they want? If some people want to play commoners with the impressions of the world that brings, with nothing significantly unique standing out, then let them. If some people want to play an elven Neutral Evil necromancer wannabe-lich or a drow paladin, let them, no matter how improbable it may sound to you. Be critical of the reasons why this character has chosen such paths, sure. But don't force people into characters that don't conform to your view of lore.
[/rant]

Anyways, I agree with ArtOfLight. But with my rant jus above in mind, I'd add:
  • If someone RCRs from a level 30 wizard with 29+ int and 8 charisma into a level 20 favoured soul with 14 int and 21 charisma but keeps the name, personality and memories, my character is going to assume they have made a weird pact with a demon, because that kind of sudden retraining just makes no sense.
  • If someone's character is making outlandish claims (like being best friends with a Duke, ability to dreamwalk, being an influential noble in the area of the server, other unlikely authorities, etc...) without DM approval, my character is going to think they are lying, insane or both.
  • If OOC chatter continues for a long time, I will leave the area.

I was referring to gray orc paladins of Tyr, not half-orcs per se. Half-orcs do not have the same mindset of orcs if raised by humans. And still, Orcs are evil and chaotic. They have natural inclinations to kill, maim, plunder and pillage. To demonstrate this, non-evil, canon established orcs in the FR setting are non existant. Don't believe me? Check the manuals. Perhaps there ARE some good orcs around, but they should be something like 1 in a million. And this still marks them as snowflakes.

Then I'm swell, because I always look down on anything that does not conform to what the manuals have established as "canon lore". Good orcs are snowflakes. Good drows are not. Heck, there are EVEN a few drow priests of Corellon Larethian around (don't believe me? Read Faiths and Avatars, advanced edition). Good-aligned tieflings are not as rare as good aligned orcs (Races of Faerun even mentions that SOME tieflings actively challenge their heritage and fight against evil whenever they can), not much else to say about it. Whether they are evil or chaotic depends on their heritage (ergo, Devilish or Daemonic).
Why shouldn't people play improbable characters if they want? If some people want to play commoners with the impressions of the world that brings, with nothing significantly unique standing out, then let them. Oh, I never said that they should not be allowed to play their characters. I am just saying that I will never take a drow paladin of Ilmater/Gray Orc priest of Sune (And yes, I've seen one!) seriously. FR Elves have a saying on the matter: "An owl is not a sheep, and the sheep that tries to be an Owl will soon discover that he can not fly".

About the same amount of chaotic good warlocks pacted to chaotic good fey. But people play them, because it is possible and unusual.

My point is that snowflakes doesn't necessarily make the character unviable. It's not against the lore to be a drow or orc paladin. It's just not common or otherwise mentioned in lore.

Hm, my list is complicated and long but here it goes:

*Kill her on sight if you have an RP reason to do so, I don't mind.

*Just make sure to set her on hostile first before PvP, that will let me know as a player you have consented.

*Feel free to wait, stalk, and creep over to stab her in her sleep if you're that type. It's her fault she didn't cast alarm/and or go to an Inn.

*Towns are sacred ground for the most part. However, if you were going to take her out in an alley way, at least PM me so we can decide if that is even feasible with guards walking around and what not.

That's it, everything else seems to be followed all the time in my travels. Thx!

Chaotic Neutral archfey if you are referring to my warlock. And still, one in a million is fine. It's when everyone wants to be the exception rather than the norm that the situation becomes unbelievable.

I have encountered this... that snowflake ended quickly.
