Background: Richard was once a young man from the dales. His parents died before he could ever remember. While in the orphanage, he caught the attention of an old wizard who took him in and began to teach him the craft. Things went well for some time until he came of age.

When he turned 18 him and his mentor was taken in by authorities. It seems that the old man was practicing necromancy. But since those lessons were never taught to the boy they let him go.

Now with out his master he wandered the land studying the craft. On his travels he wound up coming across a cleric of great power. They traveled together for some time and became good friends. Well as good as they could be. Richard has never been the trusting sort.

Eventually he told Richard his who his true deity was. From the moment he heard the black hands teachings it spoke to him. Order through fear. The cleric unfortunately died in battle. But before hand he told him he had friends near Baulders Gate.

Goals: Master the arcane by any means necessary. Destroy all those that would appose Banes will.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Richard had an accident studying Acid Splash. The acid torched his face and got inside his nostrils and lungs. While most of the damage has been fixed he still has to wear a mask or after a while the dust in his lungs will make it hard for him to breath.
