A prisoner is led through the streets

Unread post by DogsForArms »

Ezekiel and Vera, two prisoners, are led through the streets of Baldur's Gate. Ezekiel stumbles over the cobblestones after the guards ahead of him, wearing a swollen eye and a broken nose. As they go, commoners and adventurers snowball to the streets, following and funneling out of their homes-- gossiping and whispering about the necromancers, lead by Beric Engel and Jack Gendalan, strong figures striving ahead of the prisoners, dressed in their royal ornate full-plate armors.

-"She tried to use her magic on Jack Gendalan, but they say he was too fast!..."
-"put up quite a struggle; I reckon, ... that's a sure signa guilt!"
-"The tieflin' walked from the scene, an Pain returned him. Ee triedta use his necromancy on Pain they say...!"
-"Ee's a witch! Eee turn'd me inta a newt!"
//I couldn't resist.

Voices and whispers echo along these streets, running all the way down to the Flaming Fist Castle, where the broad shouldered tiefling is stripped of his armor, locked in a cell, and left to wait, until the trial. He gazes out at the faces on the other side of the bar, calmness in his dark, beetle-like eyes; His eyes show understanding... he sees his death, casting a slow glare on his companion, bunching up his lips in disappointment and shaking his head.

He does not pace his cell, but stays standing, horns resting on the bars, ...fists tight on the metal. He does not move, shoulders rising and falling, calm breathing, as night and day pass without the man counting...

They await trial.
