Last Name:
Appearance:
Race: Shield Dwarf
Age: 22
Height 5'0"
Weight: 203 lbs
Eyes: Green
Hair: Blonde
Facial Hair Style: Werak has a long moustache, split in the center, resembling what others would call a trader's moustache. His beard is not the longest you have seen on a dwarf, but it is braided in such a way that it resembles a ship's wheel.
Unlike most dwarves, Werak distinguishes himself by his fairly long blonde hair. Despite this, his green eyes, lightly tanned skin and body size do not betray his nature. Standing at an above average 5'0" and weighing slightly above 200 lbs, he does show the same features you would expect from a common Shield Dwarf.
You may not see extraordinary intelligence or wisdom in his eyes, but his strong and hardy body fuels his passion for fighting, as it should for the young dwarf that he is.

Personality Profile:
General Health: strong and healthy
Deity: Clangeddin Silverbeard
Initial Alignment: Lawful Good
Profession: Former Monk Apprentice
Base Class & Proposed Development:
Initially a Monk, but will give it up and develop into a Fighter. Will become a Dwarven Defender later on as he's getting closer and closer to his goal. May go for a religious story later on when I have to level him to Monk 2 and 3 and possibly get a few levels in a different religious class. The focus is Dwarven Defender and Fighter though, I want him to be a 3 Monk, 10 DD and at least 10 Fighter.
Habits/Hobbies:
Alcohol is a big part of any Dwarf's life. Werak likes the occasional brawl and if drunk enough, may even leave his weapon behind in a tavern or by the campfire while he goes out to whack a bandit or two just for fun.
Languages:
Common, Dwarf
Gnome, learned from a childhood friend.
Weapon of Choice: Dwarven Waraxe
Background:
Werak's family lives up north in the land of Luruar, or otherwise known as The Silver Marches, in the village of Deadsnows. Like his parents, Werak did not grow up as part of a dwarven clan, so he was often teased or bullied for it. Other dwarves alienated him and he found it very difficult to make friends. Not that he didn't like the company of humans, but such friendships never compare to the brotherhood that dwarves have with each other.
Because Werak had to deal with bullies every day, he focused on becoming stronger and learning to fight. He made friends with a gnome named Erf after defending him from a group of local half-orcs. They soon became best friends. Werak learned to speak the Gnome language in quite a short amount of time. He also learned a bit of Spellcraft from Erf and developed a passion for it, despite the fact that he did not possess the talent to use magic.
One day, the dwarven clan and the half-orcs got into a very bad fight in the local tavern, "The Blazon". When the fight emerged, Erf was very close to the drunken fighters. He tried to get away, but he got stabbed by one of the half-orcs. Engulfed by rage, Werak jumped on the attacker and proceeded to punch him repeatedly, seeking justice. A member of the Watch had to stop Werak from beating the half-orc to death.
Erf's wound wasn't too bad and he got better in a few days. Werak, however, had to answer for his behavior. His parents decided to send him off to a Monk Academy on the Sword Coast in order to learn discipline and self-control.
After years of apprenticeship, Werak soon became a Monk. But deep inside he knew that this is not for him. He could not give up his faith in Clangeddin Silverbeard, the only god and hero of his childhood.
What he always wanted was to be part of a clan. After hours of meditation and thinking, he decided that he wants to seek acceptance into a Dwarven Clan and honor it through battle and war his entire life. He vowed to return home as an honorable member of the Ironfaar clan.
Goals: Werak strives to accepted into Clan Ironfaar and prove his honor and bravery in battle.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts:
Werak's grandfather was part of an old dwarven clan that was wiped out by half-orcs. During the war with the half-orc clans, he dishonored his clan by deserting on the field of battle.
During his apprenticeship years, Werak continued to study the art of Spellcraft because it reminded him of his childhood friend Erf.
Werak feels he betrayed Clangeddin Silverbeard by apprenticing as a monk, even though he did not worship a different god. As part of his quest for the dwarf God's forgiveness, he vowed to honor him by dedicating himself to the art of fighting with a battleaxe.
Although confident in his ability to fight, Werak is aware that his intelligence and tactics are average at best and he fears that one day this might be his downfall.
Having only heard stories about the Gary Orcs, Werak is not looking forward to encountering them in battle.
