Character bio:

Draco grew up in a halfling village in Tethyr. He was a son of the shaman, a young brave child. Since his youngest days some sort of magic emanated from this boy. His father knew it and wanted Draco as his follower. But the boy had little interest in herbs and spirits. He loved travels and the Moon. Yes that's what he loved the most. He would sneak out in the night just to sit on the hill and watch it illuminate the darkness. Everything changed when his village was attcked by slavers. His home burned to the ground and he with other children taken away. Eventually he was sold to a Thayan made. His usurpator wanted Draco as a gladiator for his pit fights. But how many luck needs a halfling child to evade death form a hellhound? Well Draco had a lot of it... survived 2 fights. During the third week of his misery he stabbed the mage in the back while he was sleeping. Knowing it will be hard to escape Thay he joined a band of mercenaries who escorted a Carawan to Amn. He didn't learn much from this travel, mainly carrying water and cooking food, but he was in some way free. The mercenaries were brute people though, wanting to assimilate with them he aggred to make some tatoos that they wore. Traveling with the caravan was a man whom the mercenaries called the Deceiver. The hooded man noticed Dracos interest in his person. One night when Draco watched the Moon as always the Deceiver approached him. He told the boy of his powers, how he got them, and what is his mission. Draco as a young boy didn't listen cerafully to the man, blinded by the power itself wanted it for himself. The rest of the journey to Amn was filled with desire for the same power. After arrival the Deceiver took the boy to a temple, the destination of his journey. There Draco was told thet to acquire the power he must undertake a special ritual. Not thinking to much Draco agreed. The fire burned with a big red flame whne the acolytes whispered a dark ritual. The next day Draco woke up on a clod floor in the center of the temple, nobody was around, just a note in his hand. The boy read the words written with red ink. Shortly after he run away form this forsakne place leaving the note on the floor.

Draco

This is your contract with the Lord of Deepest Hells.
You are bound to serve him with your life.
Breaking this aggrement means the damnation of your soul.
This letter was written with your own blood.
Await your commands.

The Deceiver

Draco understood his mistake, how foolish he was and that he betrayed all the things he believed in. For several years he searched a way to cancel this horrible situation. Almost 8 years after the ritual took place, a dark hooded character approached Draco in a tavern near Beregost. The halflinh knew it was time to pay for his dreams of power. He was chosen to assasinate a merchant in Baldurs Gate. He followed him at night to his home. Lurking through the window he saw him playing with his children, kissing his wife. Then a memory of a knife stabbing a wizards lung covered his mind, a memory not to pleasant. He imagined this innocent merchant covered in blood, his flesh torn with a sharp blade, children and wife crying.
He could not do this, he was not evil. He ran through fields into the forest near the city. There on the hill he prayed to the Moon. He wanted to sacrfice himself, just to avoid this devilish bond. Then the moon started to shine more brightly then normally, he could not see what it was. A voice gentle, that calmed his soul. Draco doesn't know till this day if it was Selune herself or her avatar or maybe he was just dreaming, but the voice said that it has the power to free him from his debt, but not to free his soul from the conection with the Hells. He would live a long life but after death his soul will be taken to the Hells for a trial. Draco felt that it was the only way to redeem his mistakes in this life. The suffering after death was not an issue at the moment. The spirit said also that to maintain in this blessing he must avoid any chances to hurt innocent people. Bad deeds will mean punishment after death.
Now his real journey began, his quest to protect the innocent and to find the man who brought this misery on him...
It starts here... In Baldurs Gate...20 years after his abduction a new chapter of his life opens up... a chapter full of adventure he always dreamed of....
