NOTE: This merely shows the character's background, and will not reflect any changes in his situation/personality that might occur. In fact I fully plan on his situation to change drastically throughout his career.

Background:
Born of a Drow Father and a Half-Drow Shebali, Teb'nol has been a victim of Drow Society for most of his life. Both of his parents were far from Noble status, and his mother in particular was from a now-dead House. His father had wealth enough to own a small mansion in Menzoberranzan and to have three slaves to serve him and his wife, who was not Teb'nol's mother. He paid a small fortune to own a Half-Drow as a slave, yet once she was in the household she quickly used her beauty and intelligence to overthrow her master's wife and take her position. The corpse was never found, and the woman indeed seemed to have the favor of Lolth. She took hold of the household and through intrigue, betrayal, and sometimes a bold viciousness she led the house to near noble status. Teb'nol, a different name given to him in birth, was four years old when his mother made the final push, conquering and absorbing a slightly smaller house, raising the House into a low Noble status.
This was a mistake. One of the Noble Houses had a vested interest in both houses, and had been secretly guiding them to conflict, to weaken both so that they could absorb both houses with minimal losses. A personal member of that house died in the coup led by Teb'nol's mother, and the Noble House had their revenge by wiping out the weakened family, only Teb'nol left alive as a trophy and "replacement" for the single family member that died.
While one could be regaled with the many punishments and tortures that were laid on the poor child who was renamed Teb'nol (meaning Low-Birth); suffice it that it was a miserable existence for him, and fostered in him a hatred of both Noble Drow and Lolth. The Nobles who did such things to him, and the deity they worshipped and who encouraged such activity. Teb'nol spurned the other Underdark deities, seeing them as either minions of Lolth or beings who don't have the strength to oppose her. He instead turned to the surfacer deities for answers, *DMs please feel free to PM me to ask about Teb'nol's faith.* This worship is of course secret, for a Drow worshipping a non-Drow deity would certainly be tortured even more.
The more recent story of how Teb'nol ended up in Sshamath is a simple one. Trade. A simple venture to the City of Dark Weavings for magical goods. Of course, his Masters didn't know that Teb'nol had managed to learn some basic cantrips...
Goals: To live another day.
