SIlence spell mechanics

What does happen if I cast on a melee ally (as a bard) the spell silence and my comrades does charge on an enemy wizard? Is the enemy wizard silenced by the aura of my fellow companion without a ST allowed (because this way the aura should work)?

I don't think the aura's move in NWN2 like they did in NWN1. So the location of your ally when you cast the spell is the centre of the aura, until dispelled or lapsed

Also your ally is silenced.

BUT, if you cast it near the wizard on the ground, he gets no save and he's silenced. So yeah, wanna kill a bard an' a wizard, bring these wands.

The Aura moves.

;) Your ally gets a will save just like everything else, and yep. The AoE will silence the mage. With a 3 second duration, and the will save involved, using this tactic is very tricky. But it can win you a battle if it does work.

You don't get a will save if it's cast on the ground though, Bre.

True, but then the Aura won't move. If you want it to move, cast it on allies.

Usually wizards have a good will save though. Same with bards. So I'd rather cast it on the ground, and until they realise what's happening, slice them to bits. :D
