My mage got acidic splatter but I dont know the amount of the damage it could do. Which is different to the storm bolt I took with my druidess. As it indicates all the time how many die it will use.

The question is too, if I use a metamagicl, does it use the spell level slot it is in or does it use the original spell level? For instance I use a maximized acid fog to get 9d6 dmg with acidic splatter. But does it work that way, or do I just get 6d6 because it is a lvl 6 spell originally?

It's spell level of the spell, not of slot used. So the highest you're going to get with acid splat on a mage is 6d6, I think.

Ah, k, it is 7d6 with the shadow spell... Ah, well, not the best choice then. And thanks for the info.

Metamagic will not apply at all. So if you have maximised Acid Fog, but no other acid spell memorized, you will not be able to use it.

As for 7d6, it is 24,5~ on average. (Can be used to finish trolls, uses a lower level spell to fuel it.)

Invisible Needle is 9d4, which is 22,5~ on average. (Deals magic damage, is fueled by 'Saved for PvP' spells.)

The perk of the above is that they will hit 95% of the time. (When you get decently high enough BAB.)

The other feats deal more damage, but tend to come with reflex for half.

True, and there are the lucky critical hits, which aren't possible with the reflex reserve feats.

its 9*2d4 = 18d4 = avg 45

I think the rune was beefed up to 9*2d6.

Runes have a cool down, do they not? And can you cast it directly into battle?

I prefer to being able to cast it every round...

Does Runes have a Cool Down? Yes, the Cool Down is 30 seconds between casts

Can you cast them directly in battle? Yes.

TBH I feel the runes should not only do damage dice per level of spell sacrificed / reserved, but also 1 extra damage per effective caster level. no max.

realistically speaking, the damage id never going to match that of someone using a weapon.

But I would not apply this to the ones that use RTA, because they can crit have multiplier that can be changed, (Imagine a weapon master) and can do sneak attack if you hips. The Rune ones can not, and are only usable once every 30 seconds, and always consitantly do less damage, still, even though they now do like almost 5-6 points more damage in practice.

another reason to buff the runes and not the RTA's, is the rta's cover more distance, can single a target out. Neither can be counterspelled, but the area where the first rune is cast can be avoided. It also add save for half.

I see needle users doing consistently 100+ damage every round. they tell em they do not even need to use their offensive spells because its strong enough to use on bosses even.

the Runes. not a chance. you can use it 1/6th as often, and it does about half the damage (since its been buffed) because it has no synergy with anything else. AT the PIERCING COLD tag to the rune of cold and such.

They .. can't ? Even if you've got ten full levels of arcane trickster and the damage is added you don't come close to it with only 9d4 (bigby 9 spell loaded as a reserve spell) + 5d6 sneak attack = 66 max ?

so thats 1d4+5 x2 = 2d4+10

so we have 9d6 + 5d6 + 2d4 + 10 = 14d6+2d4+10 = 84 + 8 + 10 = 102...

so yeah its possible... with loads of luck

This is impossible. Even with arcane trickster. Dzidek made it possible through rolling max. That's not consistency. You've been lied to.
