This heavy, black leather tome appears to be well-read, yet lovingly cared for. Its spine and borders are locked in thick silver casing to prevent damage to the tome, and it exudes a faint aura of magical power when held in one's hands. The pages within are of middle-quality parchment paper. The writing is in several different mediums, from ink and charcoal to lead.

Lore DC 25: parts of the text are obviously in draconic, the language of dragons and their kin, and can be read by those fluent in the language; the majority of the text, however, is written with the Thorass alphabet.
