Order of the Bow Initiate - Usable with any ranged weapon?

I want to clarify something on this class, since I've been interested in playing one but also REALLY wanted to try out the Warslinger. When reading the wording used on the class abilities, I noticed the following...
Ranged Precision:
I tried testing this out with Jeg's Training Module, but for some reason I couldn't actually take either the Warsling Sniper or the Order of the Bow Initiate classes on there despite meeting all the prerequisites. If I had been able to figure it out there, well... Yeah.
Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.
Ranged Precision:
Close Combat:as a standard action, an initiate may make a single precisely aimed attack with a ranged weapon, dealing out an extra 1d8 points of damage if the attack hits. ...
So, I need to know, and kudos to anyone that's tested it: Does this mean the class works with ANY ranged weapon - like slings and crossbows and throwing axes - but simply needs the player to invest a feat in a Bow weapon focus first? Alternatively, is the vague wording just that: Vague?at 2nd level, an initiate can attack with a ranged weapon while in a threatened square and not provoke an attack of opportunity.
