Appropriate Weapon for a Cleric of Lolth?

As Lolth's favoured weapon is dagger, and the stereotypical snake whip is not in game, I was considering using a flail on my cleric when she gets martial proficiency. (I know it's suboptimal and a warhammer would be better, but an elf with a hammer seems wrong somehow)

Any thoughts from seasoned veteran drow?

flail is a popular drow weapon so i dont see any problems with it... it is used in GB@ game by drow forces, so is the scimitar

as for other tips i can give you advise on some drow magical items

Scourge of Fangs - a whip
Drow Mission Blade - shortsword
Hand Spinneret - hand crossbow
Queen’s Scourge - another whip
Death Spear (Lesser or Greater) - ofc a spear
Lash of Torment - another whip

Whats wrong with a dagger?

A bastard sword could be considered slightly off but otherwise anything you like since nwn2 took away the whip. Mace, morningstar and longsword come up from memory but those are pretty standard weapons.

Find something that is decently painfull and poisonous if you can?

Actually, bastard sword is nice choice. Very often it is used more often as wicked buutcher blade rather than weapon of paladin.

If you ask about stereotype, then it's rapier, favorite of drow.
