THE LAWS OF THE LAND (IC) needs updating

Unread post by AlwaysSummer Day »

In the Elfsong Tavern Subforum is a post called "THE LAWS OF THE LAND (IC)". Under the laws for the FAI it says "2) Spell casting of a harmful nature will not be tolerated within the gates of the Friendly Arm Inn. Those in violation will be banned from re-entry." This conflicts with what a DM has told me, what it says on the sign, and as far as I know Lore. I have encountered several players that point to this post to justify teleporting in and out of the courtyard. Perhaps it is time for an update? Just delete the "of a harmful nature" part.

It's true. No spellcasting at all should be tolerated in the friendly arm inn. Thumbs are supposed to be tied to one's belt too. No weapons are supposed to be allowed exept those of the flaming fist and the radiant heart, they're supposed to be sheated and tied, or left at the gate for the most untrusty individuals.

I have not heard that the Radiant Heart was granted special dispensation there. Where is this posted?

Laws of the land wrote:1) All visitors will be asked to either hand over weapons to the guardsman at the gates, or peace bond their weapons.
(This is to be done either with IN CHARACTER RP or IMPLIED RP. This means it will be the player's responsibility to role play accordingly. Abuse of the system will be dealt with. See the laws discussion post for more information.Subject: Laws... Forgive me for this... but...)

Members of the Flaming Fist and Radiant heart may keep their weapons on their person but must have them bonded. They may help defend the inn/area if the need arises, or be hired by Bentley to protect the grounds... in such cases peace bonding is not required. Those of questionable reputation will be asked to leave weapons at the gates with the guardsman.

(Again, some responsible RP is asked.)

Those of questionable reputation will be asked to leave weapons at the gates with the guardsman.

Does this mean random adventurers?

What of adventurers who have defended the Inn before against some kinds of attacks , or are members of some respected guild [like avowed].
For life to be worth living, afterlife must retain individuality, personal identity and  memories without fail  - https://www.sageadvice.eu/do-elves-reta ... afterlife/
A character belongs only to their player, and only them. And only the player may decide what happens.

Well, shady-looking people would be asked to leave their weaponry at the gate. Those who are known to be trouble as well.

Everyone else(it includes avoweds), peace-bonded. Exept Radiant Heart when the needs arise. And flaming fist, of course.

Well, very few avoweds actually behave in respectable manner. Some of the worst 24/7 christmas trees I have seen on the server.
