"Hendrick!," the tactician calls out from near the bar at the Elfsong Tavern. The one he is addressing, most likely named Hendrick, is seated at a table, scribing a number of what appear to be...posters, in dutiful script. "Come along my goodman...we have work to do and positions to fill!"

The loudness in Naeus' voice could be easily attributed to the near-empty stein that rests in a closed fist.

Soon after, minutes perhaps, or later in the day, a poster appears upon the public boards of the East District of Baldur's Gate. Flapping in the wind, it surely gets the attention of those looking for adventure...and employment:

The details:

The group sought is to consist of:

- A Man capable of commanding. Sure in voice, proud, and capable upon the battlefield. To be known as the Gerent.
- A Woman capable of a long reach, in either will, wit or force. Graceful, impressive and skilled in diplomacy. To be known as the Sovereign.
- A person who gains strength from the Gods. That knows faith can bridge distances where the hand and the foot cannot. Be it armored or wise, let this position be known as the Officer.
- A person that knows how to appear when necessary, from odd angles. One that can see the side-angle of a deal or a situation. One that is light enough of the feat that footsteps are rarely heard. To be known as the Knight.
- A person that stands true, direct and with resolve. Immovable. A bastian of strength when needed, by either a strong back, a blunt attack, or a blocked path. To be known as the Tower.

They will join in league with the Tactician and the Steward. A mighty 7 they will be.

The aim and employment of the Lanceboard is to consist of
:

- Reaching the many corners of the Sword Coast, from which knowledge and riches can be acquired.
- To be called together as a mercenary group when the tactician Naeus Thearao initiates. THE Mercenary Group.
- To form, strategically, a unique position of power within the Courts, Guilds and Races that inhabit the Sword Coast.

The rewards of employment to Naeus Therao:

- Base gold coin of 3,000 gp per month.
- Use of wares that are in the possession of Naeus Therao, should they suit.
- An equal share in the wealth discovered.
- Prosperity amongst like-minded individuals, that see the strength in number.
- Gravitas as being the most complete, efficient, adventuring/mercenary group upon the Sword Coast.

Mind it well...this both a contract to be made, and a calling to follow.

//OOC:

Basically, there is needed:

- a melee-type "King" that has extreme skill in either Diplomacy or Intimidate.
- an arcane-type "Queen" that has positive charisma or soul, and high social skills.
- a cleric-type "bishop" that is the faith and soul of the group, and skilled in healing.
- a rogue-type "knight" that can scout and is mechanically inclined...and stealth. Possibly filled.
- a fighter-type "castle" that can tank and is a blunt instrument, unyielding or Fearless, with possible gruff qualities. Possibly filled.

Races are open to interpretation. Existing toons possible to join.

These 5 roles will become companions of Naeus Therao (a strategian/diplomat/Intelligent Fighter) and the steward, Hendrick (administrator/defender of tasks/observer) as they build the Lanceboard: a metaphor for a complete set of skills in order to Win the Game. While at first this is a "hiring" of adventurers, it hopefully develops into something more...horizontally distributed. It is also possible some stay and some leave, over time, and are replaced. A living group, so to speak.

Current toons for any position are between lvls 7–18. Level really doesn't matter. Membership in another guild or faction is acceptable, however, the Lanceboard should be your main affiliation. A strong bio is required. And, any person joining this group should be into RP, big time, while adventuring. And have the desire to be active on these discussion boards, because sometimes the RP takes place there.

Lastly, we decide on one regular time, each week, to adventure 2-3 hours (mandatory). Pick-up times as needed or possible. Suggestions are Friday or Weekend day, to accomodate timezones.

Oh, and if you are interested, you know what to do. Feel free to send me questions.
