Looking for a link or guide to leveling

Unread post by gallimar »

Hi All

I am a returning player from the buggy release days. I see this game has had some drastic changes since!! However I am loving them and especially so playing on my new gaming rig with the highest settings

I am a new player on this server and after finally understanding all the rules/item levels and class restrictions and god following rules of the character I would like to play, I am now successfully done with week 1!

However I have hit a kind of brick wall on this server. There are lots of quests out there however there is not much description as to where things are. I love exploring but this has lead me to many areas way way above my level in search for quest missions and had me killed many times, loosing multiple xp's. Right clicking and examining creatures doesnt tell me how strong they are (Or am I missing something).

I may complete a quest, get lost doing the next one, die then loose all gains

Can anyone help me with a guide to get started (from lvl 1 to 12 or onwards?)

I have however been able to find success by RP'ing out information from other players, however sometimes I feel like I am zapping all thier time as they take me from place to place from doing thier own things.

I have also a kind of limited play time having a daughter and so sometimes I am on to beat out a quick mission with maybe 10mins RP.

Any help is marvellous!

P.S your server is brilliant!!!!

Thanks all xoxo

Hello gallimar,
Welcome to BGTSCC.

As you stated, the best way to attain knowledge is via Role-play, and asking other Characters, in-character, how and where Quests, relations, information, is. It is the simplest way to make acquaintances, and to develop your own Character's personality and relationships.

In addition to simply continue going on about it as you currently are—and mind you, most Players will not be bothered by a "newbie" taking up some of their time—there are also two NPCs near Baldur's Gate, that explain quite a bit about how the Sword Coast is (and I believe, where to get some advice). These NPCs are in the Farmlands, East of Baldur's Gate, and in the Harbor District of Baldur's Gate, south by the dock transition point.

If you do not know this yet, most Quests on BGTSCC are repeatable every 7 days. Though you might loss Quest XP shortly after earning it, there is a continual chance to re-earn it.

The area of Baldur's Gate, and the Graveyard in the East, and the Kobold Ruins south of the Chionthar Bridge, are designed for levels 1–10. Try focusing on your adventuring in those Areas. And I advise you attempt to find a Party of other PCs that are close in level to your own. That way, you have a far lower chance of seeing your own PC, visit the Fugue.

Enjoy!

Hello and welcome back!

There is a quest list here for the surface.

For beginners to level 10 or so-ish

First levels
Either the Bandits & Wolves or the Graveyard

Move on to Hilltop Ruins 1 & 2 level (3rd level not recommended :P)

Then to either the Cloakwoods (fast spawns, group up!), the bandits & bears on the road to FAI, the Gibberling Cave (near the FAI), the Lion's Way (beetles) and/or the Batiri in the Cloakwood mines.

It depends -a lot- on your build and play style and what you consider good xp and risk vs reward... Do check out the consumables added in Sourcerous Sundries and the staffs for mages if you are a caster.
