Hello, a few questions...

1) Can alarm scrolls or wands be bought? If so from where?

2) I hear threads mentioning wands of IMA. I assume these are player crafted? If so how much do these sell for? Are these sold on the forums?

3) Is there an item that gives you the bonus feat craft wand?

4) Is a wand of silence a common thing for fighters with umd to carry around? Wondering if it's with picking the auto silence feats in epic levels of my sorcerer if I'm interested in pvp now and again. Are these auto silence feats worth it?

Alarm scrolls can be bought from NPC's, check out the stores in Baldur's Gate or Candlekeep. It doesn't come as a wand unfortunately.
(none of the custom introduced spells can be scribed or made into wands, as far as I've been informed)

They are player crafted, and the price varies from player to player. If you befriend a wizard, he might even only charge you the price it costs him to make the wand!

For a crafter to make a wand of Improved Mage Armour, they need a Bone wand + 22,500 gold.

Bone wands can usually be found for around 4,500 - 5,000 on the Auction House.

Not to the best of my knowledge no, never seen or even heard of one - and what with the level of loot I've seen it's very unlikely for such an item to exist as it would make wand crafters all too common.

Yes it is, but not really against sorcerers or wizards. The DC to beat against is so dismal low that you'd succeed on everything but a natural 1.

They're commonly used against bards to shut down their various abilities, but that's done by targeting the ground next to them (which means there's no save, but by moving five foot you're out of the circle of silence and can cast spells normally)

I think you're quite safe without auto-silence feats.

Thanks for the info that was very helpful! Regarding the alarm scrolls for someone reason I can't find them I checked candlekeep library, sorcerer sundries, and high hedge. Are there any other scroll vendors?

Like a few custom spells out there, Alarm scrolls are not available -anywhere-. A wizard cannot even scribe them because it is a custom spell. Only the classes who get the spell, are thus able to use it.

Casting Silence on the ground next to a wizard shuts them up just as good as bard. Pretty much the same. Works just as well on any caster class, like clerics, warlocks or druids etc.

I'm not saying that auto-still is essential, although the blobs of silenced ground can be hard to avoid in a tight space, it's simply matter of moving in order to counter, but if the attacker keeps spamming it at you and has a friend that's dealing damage to you as well, then it's a very nasty and cheap lock-down tactic.

Hmm interesting... can a quickened spell still be cast when silenced? I know they can't be countered but wasn't sure about silenced or not.

No, you need to cast a Silent spell to counter Silence.

I will have to disagree with that. A caster can move five feets away and be out of the radius and cast as if nothing happened, they don't even need to use a full round on it. A bard has to move five feet away, and then recast Inspirations because they're toggled off or/and wait X minutes for whatever song they had going to come of Cool Down so they can be cast again.

In my opinion it's more a nuisance to a wizard, sorcerer, cleric, warlock, druid or flavoured soul... whereas it's extremely frustrating for bards

As I said, if someone keeps throwing silence at you and the combat location is tight, it can become quite frustrating and far more then a nuisance, especially if it's a coordinated assault where someone else is dealing damage to you, either up close with melee or from afar. Silenced ground last quite awhile and cannot be seen with the naked eye, if your fighting in tunnels or inside some kind of room, you quickly run out of space to run to and it can be hard to tell where exactly the silenced ground starts and ends in the confusion.

Actually, I would say that one of the only and strongest counters against any caster is a cheap silence wand. I can see how it could be frustrating for a bard, but then again, bards usually aren't entirely reliant on casting every round, often relying on melee/bow for their damage, whereas a wizard/sorc or especially warlocks, who can't even use silenced magick, are completely locked down.

Wizards and Sorcs can get the Automatic Spell: Silent Metamagic feats.

The discussion was about whether or not auto silence was worth it, the OP asked about it. I was just pointing out how a warlock would be entirely helpless in a silenced area, whereas a wizard/sorc might have autostill or just a silenced spell memmed.
