Her chocolate-brown hair is long and wild, a few leaves unnoticed in it's rich length. Her cool, olive-green eyes are one of her most distinctive features and they tend to focus on small details with a curious intensity as she looks over people, objects and surroundings with a lingering, almost predatory gaze. Though she has a faintly feral look about her, there is a natural beauty to be found in her honey-coloured features, once which is often overlooked. Not surprisingly Leyla tends to dress in neutral colours, most commonly greens, brown and grey hides; her clothing simple but flattering. A few pieces of bone-carved armor spatter her arms and shoulders.

Habits/Hobbies: Leyla has a habit of shrugging off anything that may affect her, giving the impression (as desired) that she does not care about things. She loves to drink and would do so until she drunk if given the opportunity, until her immunities came to light. Of the same note she often hunts and eats her own kills, but loves delicious food (especially apples!) and can be somewhat of a glutton. Her last name is never given, her ability to shift is only told on a need to know basis and she is terrified of fire. Leyla retains a lot of her wolfish tendencies from extensive time spent in animal form. This young elf is most at home in the wilds and has come to enjoy the often company of "her human" as well as spending her time hunting, fishing, reading and drinking. She enjoys music of all types, learning the curiosities of people and often discussing the psychology surrounding them in combination with her own views on society.
Description: Though often cynical, Leyla is typically easy-going, relaxed and jovial, but also comes across as being rather haughty and self-sufficient. She laughs as easily as she mocks, though both are often done in a playful manner. Her confidence is easily noted, seemingly aware of her ability to draw attention, she has no qualms about using it (within reason) and happily accepting whatever it brings her. Leyla is very proud but does understand that she does not know everything, having no qualms with admitting such. She is usually good-humored and talkative. While she may come across as carefree, arrogant and manipulative at times, Leyla uses her less positive traits as a shell to protect herself as she is surprisingly soft on the inside. Due to her isolation for decades, she gradually feels very lonely and has a deep fear of being abandoned. This can range from physically, to the emotional attachments she is afraid to make due to her extensive lifespan. It is rare for someone to see this full side of her and she is quite haughty and self-concious about it. Despite this fact, she is fiercely independent in her own ways. It can easily be said, Leyla is not your typical elf nor your typical druid and finds it difficult to fit within any single stereotype.
"I am not your charity, and I have a tendency to consider things from only my perspective.
A blink of an eye in my world is a lifetime in yours."
A blink of an eye in my world is a lifetime in yours."
Background:
Orphaned as a baby within deep forests due to the death of her fleeing family, a young Leyla was effectively alone from an early age with no memories of her parents or home. Her cries ringing out in the undergrowth drew the attention of wolves, the Alpha of the pack clamping his unusually large jaws around the singed cloth bundled around her and dragging her back to a small cave before reverting from his shifted wolf form as an older human male. The man was in fact an elderly druid hermit, living out his days away from civilization to keep careful watch over the balance of the grove. Taking her under his wing, though distant, Leyla was raised by the greying man and learnt from him the Druidic language and the ways of Silvanus over a span of many years. It was through him she grew to understand flora and fauna of the area and eventually led to her taking oaths to the Oakfather.
As a child Leyla was often left to her own devices, scouring the land and playing as she grew, more often than not in the company of wolves. The hermit made sure she was fed and educated to some extent, clothed and taken care of but he remained distant, disappearing for days at a time. The man himself was more of a caretaker than a father figure, aiding her much the way he would aid an injured bird or pup. Human lifespan, unlike that of Elven race is short lived and the man - already greying and of reasonable age when he had found her - passed in her childhood years.
In adolescence Leyla left the safety of the grove and set out on her own, but it was not an easy path she found herself on. At first she limited herself to the deep forests, branching out and exploring new territory. Eventually the trees thinned and she came across her first human settlement at it's edge. Elven, wild and unkempt, the settlement did not greet her warmly. It was her ability to shift, however, that caused her the most problems. With no understanding of the how and why and no one to teach her, it was an ability she found difficult to control at first and was closely linked to her emotions. Chased from the town she continued onward and outward. Over the decades which followed she travelled much like a wanderer, moving from settlement to settlement and for the most part, keeping to the outskirts and undergrowth as best she could.
The elf was privy to many experiences during these years, far too much to be summarised in a few paragraphs, she always found herself outcast and feared. In turn, she spent much of her time in wolf form. Many proclaimed her magic and shifting acts of witchcraft and raised arms against her. She wasn't above using this to her advantage either, spreading mischief to those who wronged her. It was on one such occasion, being chased by a town guard she had crawled into a wooden crate to hide. A crate which was soon after thrown with a grunt into the back of a caravan, moving on its long and bumpy journey to the destination of Baldur's Gate.
Goals:
◊ To uphold nature's balance and spread the knowledge of such to others.
◊ Continue what she has learnt from the druid hermit, and grow in her skills and knowledge.
◊ Aid and protect her human from those who wish him dead.
◊ Learn more of her kin and perhaps join a faction.
◊ To develop connections which she can turn to in times of need.
◊ Aid the society which those closest to her are involved with.
Possible Plot-Hook Ideas:
◊ Overcome her abandonment issues.
◊ Join a faction or guild based on nature or elven culture.
Misc Facts:
◊ Her best friend is a wolf she has dubbed as Fenrir, or Fen, whom she has spent the last six years with. He followed her to Baldur's Gate and remains in the woodlands close by her at all times. He comes running if he sees her in trouble or she calls for him with a loud, high pitched whistle.
◊ Though Leyla keeps her ability to shift on a need to know basis, she finds great joy in her wolf form as if it were a second skin to her, indeed having spent much of her past one hundred years in and out of that shape the tendencies and nature of the beast has become very much part of whom she is, what she relates to and understands. Whist Leyla can shift into other forms, it takes some effort and concentration to do so and she feels quite out of place in those shapes.
