A note on a Wyrm's Crossing.

When you approach the bridge a note is displayed on a stone wall on the start of the bridge. It bears the Seal of the Silver Shield mercenary company.

"If you lost or dropped something valuable here, you may ask about it in the Friendly Arms Inn. Just ask the innkeeper Bentley about a lost item on a Wyrm's Crossing and he will give you more information."

Next time crossing the bridge, Roric takes down the note. A content smile on his face shows the note must have worked.
