Ending on Even or Odd Dexterity?

Unread post by AlfarinIcebreaker »

A question. I'm planning a build which has 8 levels of Assassin. I presume he will be able to cast Cat's Grace, and three times per rest, if I am correct? With that in mind, should I aim for 27 or 26 final DEX score (or better to say, starting DEX of 19 or 20) and rely on spell or item?

26... you save up a lot of abiity points by nt going to 20...

i would even start lower on 18 ifyou can manage to get 26 via epic feats

you save at least 6 abiity points... now count that in epic feats
Hey, I just lost it, And this is crazy, But here's my login, So PM me, maybe?

26. You won't find any items with both +3 dex and hide/MS bonus.

Ending on an odd number simply allows you to skip the cats grace. +3 items aren't that difficult to find its all a matter of finding a +3 dex item with other abilities that compliment your build.

Since you are playing an assassin, I agree with ending on an even number. The rest of your gear could be devoted to hide/ms gear.

EDIT: deathgrowl beat me to it :(

What about a scenario where you can end at 17 or 18 dex? I'd say end on the number that's higher, no matter what.

17 + 3 item = 20

18 + 2 item = 20, but you can also cast or have cat's grace cast on you for 22

Just an example of when even might be better. :)

I have seen boots +4 dodge +3 Dex +3 Hide +3 Ms

Also bracers +3 Dex & hide/ms

even a ring, if I am not mistaken.

There definitely are +3 DEX items with hide/ms around :).

Grandfathered. And apparently you're not allowed to trade for those anymore.
