Teris, the mad Genasi had become over insistent upon a making a journey to a strange place.
He said he would go, with or without company, which had forced my hand to join his queer trip. He had managed to have two fellows accompany us- skilled warriors. Hoihe of Candlekeep and Za'than- who is clearly of some sort of fiendish blood.
I found Hoihe handsome, boisterous and well mannered. He seemed skilled with many weapons. Thinking of him, makes me feel a little anxious.
As for Za'than- he left me uneasy, with his fiendish blood. Though he was an oddity as his demeanor was a happy and cheerful one. In the end he may have been the most comforting presence of them all.
Teris had continued to deal out his maddened antics. Though as much as I wish to help him, I know his mind is to far maddened for myself to be of any help. He is a good man, despite his clear loss of sanity.
The Destination was decided, and it would likely be quite a long trip. We had first arrived just past Nashkel, and the snow fell heavily, biting into my skin. I watched as the other three quickly disbanded two frost creatures with ease. It was exciting to watch them so skillfully fell beasts of such might and speed.
Teris had not been so lucky, however. He was injured badly, and I had to use one of my scrolls from the Temple to mend his wounds. He had run head first into the areas without us, putting himself at great risk. Fortunately we had survived.
Up the road-way, we had spotted a Caravan in ruins, where some bodies lay. I uncovered their shattered cart to find tools and a shovel. I attempted to dig a hole, for burying but, the ground proved to thick and solid, I made no progress. Due to the cold being so biting, I was forced to simply light a candle, before moving on. I remember little after that, yet I woke up near a waterfall and warm air on my skin.
Hoihe had used smelling salts on my unconscious body to awaken me. It seemed a frost beast had attacked me, and the cold had also done a toll. Regardless we pushed on towards a cave. Teris kept speaking of whispers coming from the 'Shiny Tree' as he called it.
Though I knew it was his madness speaking, I was curious of this tree myself. Hoihe had me and Teris follow closely to Za'than, keeping behind him. So we entered the cave with this in mind. I followed closely to the sound of Za'than's foot-steps, as he had invisibility cast upon himself. All went up in a flash however, when we turned a corner, a large ball of fire came crashing down on us, rendering myself unconscious- again.
Eventually I woke up near a beautiful tree, it almost looked to be made of stone and it's leaves must have been crafted by a God. It's beauty was breath-taking. I desired one of its branches, to plant somewhere, and extend its beautiful reach.
My body burnt and half of my equipment broken, I climbed the ledge none-the-less, and aligned my blade with one of the stubs of a branch, to make a clean cut. I had swung my blade with as much strength as I possibly could, resulting in my blade shattering into many small pieces. Given up on mine own strength, I asked Hoihe if he could retrieve the branch.
Teris also insisted on receiving Hoihe's aid, in his desire to collect a leaf from the tree.
Hoihe with one strike managed to perfectly cut the tree. The swing was beautiful. Were I more lady-like, and less monster, I may have swooned for the man there. He had given both myself and Teris our desired items.
I made sure to collect some of the water, where the tree lie as well, as I was curious to its nature.
We had easily found ourselves out of the cave where Hoihe used some strange spell, that traveled us as quickly as wind to the front of the Friendly Arms Inn. He layed a palm upon me, to 'bring' me along. I felt embarrassed and instead wrapped a hand around his forearm, preferring him not to touch mine own body.
It was a strange and very painful adventure. Now I only need to find a place to plant this beautiful branch, and grow a new tree.
