Background: Natusake originally hails from Wa, an island within Kara-Tur. He was raised in an ex-noble family. This family is odd in particular, because they are part of the Eta, usually the poor, scorned, and belittled portion of the Wanese population, but they have nearly the same riches a noble would. Their riches allow them to hire many Sho and Ko to sustain their wealth, while they are still considered Eta because they are not part of any other working class. Natusake's family wanted to ascend back to Lord status, therefore they focus much on the education of their children. As such, Natusake was taught Elvish and Dwarvish at a young age. He also learned some lore and gained knowledge because of this. Moreover, Natusake's family rigorously trained him and his brothers to become Shi. With a large number of Shi, Natusake's family hoped to regain status within Wa in the form of military power. Eventually, the family hopes it can become part of the nobility once again because of this status.

Natusake trained hard originally, but at the age of 17 he decided he did not want to become Shi. Although he did enjoy fighting, he wanted to choose his own path. He ran away from home, and in the process, honorably killed his brother in fair combat (his brother refused to let him leave).

For 6 years Natusake has explored the world. He has grown much and learned many things, and found many interesting places. Because of his status, Natusake calls himself rōnin, or wandering swordsman, although he was never a samurai ((rōnin are usually samurai who lost their master)). While Natusake was taking a boat from Luskan to Athkatla, there was a huge shipwreck near Baldur's Gate. Natusake floated away on the water to a beach close to Candlekeep, where he woke up with only a single Katana with his name etched on it, and no memories.

Goals: Regain his memories, explore the world, become a great swordsman

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: Natusake has amnesia, and does not know anything of his past. His amnesia causes his fighting skill to descend to that of a novice, and although he shows a high natural affinity, he does not remember everything a skilled swordsman ought to know. As he travels and learns (gains levels) he gradually learns more of his past and remembers how to fight. Natusake also is very interested in the surrounding world, and is eager to explore any ruins or caves he may come across. If he comes across true Samurai or Rōnin they may come at odds with him since he is not an official Rōnin.
