Pic:
First Name: Kai'enrai
Last Name: Gaeavae'ess
Former Alias: Mithrinshee Kai. Utilized while fleeing south to the Sword Coast Region
Appearance: Standing shorter than an “average” Elf, his muscular frame comes from training with a longsword, staying in shape to be pleasing to the eye and traveling throughout the north. He has fair skin with dark blue hair styled into a mohawk and light blue eyes.
Race: Moon Elf
Age: 121
Height: 5’5
Weight: 156 lbs
Eyes: Light blue
Hair: dark blue mohawk
Facial Hair Style: None
Personality Profile: The events over the past seven months has led him to a more profound change. While still trying to maintain a optimistic and polite outlook, it is clouded by doubt and death. As a result, he maintains a more guarded view of life. Kaienrai tries to see the best in people. He believes in grace, manners and politeness. Often times the rudeness of others will catch him off guard. He does his best to “roll with the punches”, always trying to maintain a calm and smile. He is ever curious and a believer in giving people he meets the benefit of the doubt without leaving himself vulnerable. He is very respectful of others, and often shy around strangers as he does not want to seem overly eager or intrusive. With the help of elder Dharashans, he has grown more confident in his place within Dharasha itself and more comfortable among the residents of Misty. This confidence has translated into him diving into his poetic art fervently and voicing an opinion among the wizened elders.
General Health: Healthy with no fatal ailments.
Deity: For a brief period, he lost his faith in Corellon and the Seldarine and attempted suicide. He was saved by the Protector and his faith renewed. He serves Corellon fervantly.
Initial Alignment: Neutral Good, sometimes Chaotic Good
Profession: Servant of Tel'Quessir.
Base Class & Proposed Development: Once a Bard, then Bard and aspiring Cleric. He is now a Favored of Corellon Larethian.
Habits/Hobbies: Kaienrai loves gossip. And he loves rumors. He is an avid treasure hunter but does not believe in hoarding tons and tons of goods and will eagerly share, sell or trade and all the while promoting what he sees as good. The thrill of the dungeon dive is what fuels him. He is passionate about Elven History, specifically Cormanthyr and Myth Drannor. He spends much of his time distributing and "playing merchant" with his wares. When not doing that, he supports Dharasha in whatever way possible and devotes time to train and learn among the mages, clerics and rangers of the Misty Forest. He is also a fan of poetry and writing. He makes it a point to reach out to Tel'Quessir he meets in his travels and offers assistance as he strongly believes he serves Corellon through serving The People.
Languages: Currently knows Common, Elven, Sylvan, Cormanthyn.
Weapon of Choice: Faith, Longsword
Original Background. Current events in the Sword Coast are listed under the En Dharasha Everae thread as well as this one:Originally hailing from Silverymoon, he grew up the youngest of three by a single mother. He never knew his Father. He spent his days the butt of his brothers pranks and often taking the blame for their mischievousness. The only thing that often saved him was his quick wit and his mother. He is a mama's boy in every sense of the word. Noticing a natural talent for spellsong, his mother often sent him to study under a Spellsong mage that she was acquainted with. For hours on end Kaienrai withstood training and lessons of spellsong and different effects. One thing they didn't realize was: he disliked singing. Spellsong came naturally to him but he disliked. He found it tedious, and boring and the only time his attention was ever fully into it was when his tutor was taught him lessons in swordplay and the histories of Cormanthyr and Myth Drannor.
Because of his talent, Kaienrai was often called to perform at noble parties and other elven events in Silverymoon...a situation his mother took full advantage of, parading him around and showing him off like a prized mule. While it pleased him to aid his mother, inside it killed him and he just wanted release from the trappings of that society. During this time, he became fond and skilled in information gathering and gossip, another quality his mother favored in him. In no time, he was gaining secrets and his family was pleased.
It was because of this very skill he became a target. He unknowingly gained access to information that could ruin one of the noble houses and when they became aware, the house put a bounty on his head. His tutor (who was an undercover Harper) made him flee Silverymoon for the sake of his life. For anonymity, he adopting the names of two of his childhood heroes, Mythanthor (the creater of the first Mythal) and the Srinshee, he set on the road south known as Mithrinshee Kai. Viewing this as a mixed blessing, and although sad, he embraced this new step and never looked back.
Goals:
1) Support Kirias in spreading the word and faith of Corellon Larethian.
2) Support Dharasha's efforts in the creation of their arcane study.
3) Learn more of his abilities and Corellon's Lyrics under the tutelage of the elders.
4) Research and find his Matron's Tel'Kiira stone.
5) Renew the bonds he once had within En Dharasha Everae before his journey north.
UPDATE: Ongoing RP and update:
1) Establish relations with all Tel'Quessir in the Sword Coast.
2) Refamiliarize himself with Dharasha and help where needed.
3) He recently "became" a Favored Soul of Corellon Larethian and still unsure of what that means.
4) Visit Candlekeep and speak with Tel'Quessir Elders on Tel'Kiira stones in hopes of locating his Mother's.

“Now let’s see, where was I?” He says after pausing momentarily waiting for the waitress to finish filling his cup. The Elfsong Tavern was alive with murmurs and chatters this evening feast. The dim lantern light softly illuminated the room while the crackle of the hearth ‘popped’ every few seconds. He looked back to the company at his table and smiled.
“Ah yes, the Gem of the North. I grew up there you know. I attended the fanciest of gala’s and noble events, though never did I personally know the luxury. My mother, Corellon watch over her, was a strong but vain soul. From my earliest memories I can recall she sent me to be an apprentice of another Moon Elf, a locally known story teller name Glaise. He taught me the art of spellsong..mind you, not the prancing and wild movements from those flopping gypsys. But true spellsong…from the heart and soul of ones being. He recognized I had a talent for it and nourished it. Myself? I was never a fan of singing, or music. My creativity takes different forms I say; from poetry to stories to jests and to tales and I approached it from that direction instead. Would you like to hear one?”
Silence.
“Well, perhaps another time then. But as I was saying, I grew under the mentorship of Glaise and flourished. So much so that I started being recognized in the more ritzy and artful minds. Now, I was never a fan of my talent for music and story craft but if it brought a pretty copper in for the family, then by the Seldarine, I would tolerate it. Soon enough, I started performing at festivals and gala’s, and private social functions amongst the nobility. It was a nice lifestyle, and an experience. I got to know the ins and outs of that society, quite a privilege I’d say. Drunken lips speak the truth, as the saying goes and they were right. I soon learned much more than many would like. And I passed this information on to my mother and Glaise who seemed all too eager to hear it. It’s the whole reason I am here, you see?”
Mith sipped from his cup thoughtfully before continuing.
“Ahhh, yes..what the people do behind closed doors they would like to keep it that way…but not for one trained in such. Yes, people watching and secret delving was also my trade. My mentor, I can see it clearly now, trained me in such but not a direct way. More covertly as I should have suspected, but I was a young 80 years old, how was I to know? As it happened one night, I had just finished my second set and needed a break. I was at a minor noble villa whose name escapes my lips, but it was a beautiful villa nonetheless. Even a minor noble is richer than the richest commoner. Throughout the night I kept watch on the house matron, Dohna, and saw her slip out quietly. It was highly unusual for the host of the gathering to depart so soon. So I followed her to..um, ensure she was okay. Down the villa we went through darkened corridors and passages, so far in that the only sound that I could hear now was the beating of my heart. Then I saw her, in a tiny room, surrounded by two figures. I could not discern it at the time, but the symbols on their armor was that of the human god, Bane."
Mith paused, giving time for a gasp that never came. A little irate, he continued on.
“They were speaking at first, and murmuring, even laughing. Packages were exchanged as I saw it and it seemed the meeting was coming to a close. Dohna headed for the doorway when the two man abruptly grabbed her. They handled her harshly and all I could hear were her screams. I let out a gasp and ran off. Apparently in my haste I made a raucous as I looked behind me, there stood the three. The two men glaring at me, but the matron…her look was absolutely filled with fear. Why? I would never know. I never went back to the gala and instead ran home.”
“I ran to….”
“MISTER, I just came to ask if you wanted more food” the child waiter said before stomping off, having his time wasted.
Sighing drunkenly, Mith gestured for another cup.

“..So there I was, making haste out of the noble’s villa. I did not know what to do! Witness to a crime? Perhaps. Marked by the Banites? I pray to the Seldarine that isn’t the case. But I was not about to return to the gala to find out. I ran straight away back to our humble quarters. There, my older brother was in the middle of a late night sparring session with Glaise. I arrived in a flurry, out of breath and looking a hot mess. They immediately knew something was amiss.”
"So they brought me inside, and I relayed to them the details of the incident. The look that came over my mother broke my heart. I remember the noticeable exchange between her and Glaise…it is something a son could not forget. And the looks they returned to me made me shutter. “Being here, you are now at risk. I knew something of this nature would come the longer we exposed you to that lifestyle. I am sorry, my son.” She broke down into tears at that proclamation. I just stood there, in shock, not know what was going on.
“You must leave.” Glaise said in a grave voice.
“Leave where? Home?”
“The city. You must depart. You are no longer safe.”
I just stood there flabbergasted. “AND WHERE DO YOU SUPPOSE I GO?” I asked angrily. You can imagine this took them back severely, as I never, ever raised my voice to my mother or my mentor. Ever. I was raised right. He chuckles.
Glaise looked at me with that stern look. “Head south. Far south. To the city of Baldur’s Gate. Do not contact us for eight moons at least. We will find you.”
My brother walked in at that very moment with a sack bulging with supplies and everything needed for the road. I thought it quite efficient of him, for once.
“Take these, and here is enough gold to last you for a while. You will have to make use of your talents on the road and once you get there. Make your living the way you see fit, but whatever you do, do not turn your eyes toward the north.”
I was still in quite a bit of shock when they said they’re good byes and I made my way out of the gate. This was a huge change for me and I had never been a way for so long. How could they do that to me? Was it for my best interest? What if the Banites were not looking for me?? So many questions filling my head when I heard a familiar voice call after me. It was Glaise.
“Take this extra gold. It was all I could spare.”
“Thank you, mentor” I said half-heartedly.
“Also, take my sword. Forged in Myth Drannor itself. It will compliment your skill well and I know you will take care of it. I will be asking for it next I see you” He chuckled lightly at me. I thought it was an awkward joke, personally.
His face turned grave. “Kai, it is most essential to your well being to not travel under your real name. Tell no one of your House, and reveal yourself to none unless absolutely necessary. There is rumor of a secret village of our kin south, in the Misty Forest. Their achievements are many, and deeds mighty. If you could join them, you will find something I have not felt since I left Myth Drannor.”
With that he turned on me and made his way swiftly back into the city and left me. Alone.
By the time he finished his story, the flock of seagulls he spoke to had departed. And he didn’t even notice.

Mithrinshee Kai stood in the midst of the villagers smiling and laughing. He had been with them for quite some time now and never enjoyed anything else more in his life. The labor around the village was taxing, and something he was not used to, but he put forth his best effort and pitched in where able. He was not good at hunting, but he helped with the debris disposal. He was not an able logger, but he helped with the hauling. He found his niche during the day helping the rangers or tenders around the village. At night, around the campfire, was his time. He entertained the young and even some of the old with stories and song about Silverymoon and the north; the parents in particular appreciated him very much. He assisted the arcanists with his limited understanding; the students appreciated him very much. This was home for him now and he had grown to love it. This was his family.
Family.
The sudden thought had him thinking of his real family in Silverymoon. His mother and brothers...were they still alive? And what of Glaise? His thoughts had not drifted back to Silverymoon for many months since he left. Traveling south, exploring and LIVING occupied his time mostly these days. The face of his pursuers were nothing but a distant memory though he would not forget that symbol he saw that night. That was his real family.
Conflict grew within him. These Dharashan's had accepted him for who he was, yet they know not his story. They do not know the circumstances of him being in the Sword Coast Region. They didn't even know his real name....
That thought stung him more than any other. Why should he deceive the People that took him in, who showed nothing but care and comfort for him. No, it isn't right. Taking a deep breath, he knew what he had to do. He gathered his belongings and began walking to the elder's quarters. Behind him, a child spoke "Corellon's light laughter upon you Mithrinshee Kai!". He turned and smiled, "No, child. Mithrinshee Kai is not my name. It is how I protected myself from my pursuers. I am Kaienrai. Of House Gaeavae'ess." He sighed after hearing the words outloud, and continued walking to find the elders.

Neutral good characters desire good without bias for or against order. In 4th edition mechanics for Dungeons & Dragons neutral good is found under the umbrella of the "good" alignment.
A neutral good character does good for goodness' sake, not because he is directed to by law or by whim. Such a character will obey the law, or break it when he sees that it will serve a greater good. He isn't bound strongly to a social system or order. His need to help others and reduce suffering may take precedence over all else.
A doctor who treats both sides in a fight and somebody who feeds the starving in a war zone are both examples of neutral good characters.

Caercilcarn Task 1 - "What it means to be Dharasha" - Task complete
"Dharasha is a paradise isolated from the rest of the world. The essence of beauty and nature gather here. To be a part of Dharasha is to know a home away from home. We are as one…with the forest, with each other and in our ways. We honor the traditions of the People above all others, and guard against the threats that loom ever closer to our forest. Dharasha comes before any of us, and yet all of us are Dharasha. The ideal lives in all of us, because it is much more than one place.
Being accepted into Dharasha is as much a responsibility as it is an honor. Dharashans are expected to follow the Code of Conduct put forth by the Elders and to honor the principle values of love, liberty, kinship and loyalty. We will defend the forest and old ways as the ones who came before us, and we will carry on that mantle for generations to come. Know the village, the forest, the creatures and the citizens and find yourself in the beauty of what you are a part of and what it means to you. Deceit and treachery hold no place among Dharasha…DO NOT DISAPPOINT. Listen to the words of a Dharashan but take faith in your inner voice as well.
Dharasha is pure, it's harmony, it’s an ideal of freedom we must defend. To belong to Dharasha is a blessing, an honor and a privilege denied to many others."

Caercilcarn Task 2 - Meet with Aelcar or Marigold - Task complete
"Ambassador..."
The word resounded in his head for quite some time after Aelcar spoke. "An ambassador to the Order of Lions".
He sat there in silence for a moment, the gazes of Aelcar, Jarresh and the First Mage on him. Aelcar was calmly composed, as usual for the Paladin, the First Mage looked just as much in thought as he was, and Jarresh...well, Jarresh was well into his sixth or seventh ale and already motioning for more. The exchange between Jarresh's drinking and Ithilwen's manners throroughly entertained him throughout this whole meeting, but he was smart and kept quiet.
This new Order of Lions seek to establish itself as a goodly order. Their main purpose is to help those newly arrived to the region...help them find their way, be it in supplies, or guidance, or mentorship. A worthy cause, and one I do wish was established when I arrived. As far as I know, the only known members are Aelcar, Jarresh and the Lady Marigold...all notable, prominent figures known for their many, many good deeds throughout the land. If I do say yes, my first goal will be to ensure the village remains secure and it's integrity not broken. I will not divulge any information on the location, strengths and weaknesses to the N'Tel'Quess potential allies while helping to achieve a greater good within the land. This Order, if it does establish itself in the Baldur's Gate region, will be a great avenue to assist Tel'Quessir that seems to arrive in the region more and more each day. If I say no..then I would lose on this opportunity the Seldarine have provided to help more of our People. Some of the Elders, I believe, have already spoken to Sir Aelcar and Lady Marigold so my acceptance would not surprise them, I believe. Actually, now that I think about it, it was probably their plan the all along.
Kai smiles to himself, and even let's out a chuckle. "Clever..."
He then looks to Aelcar and nods, "I accept, Sir Aelcar."

The elf stood there on the brink of tears, staring at the item in a small box. The day of trading had been going perfect up until this point. He stood there. Numb.
Within the box was his family sigil. But not just any particular one, it was the amulet worn often and proudly by his mother. And it was covered in dried blood. A thousand thoughts and emotions flooded him as he stared down at the horrid sight. “Is she..dead? Is she kidnapped? What of my brothers? Or Glaise?”
It was too much for him to take and he burst out in tears. Quickly, he shut down his vendor, leaving the details to his friend, Mule’ahn and made his way to a more private area.
When he was sure he was alone, he brought out the amulet, and scraped the blood off from it and stared at it longer, holding it as if it was his own life string. Delicately and fondly he rubbed his fingers over it over and over again, contemplating questions and possible outcomes. The horror of not knowing gnawed at him and he sat there, alone, for hours sobbing and tearing every few minutes. “WHAT HAPPENED?”
He threw the empty box down angrily and it broke apart revealing another item: A small clenched hand with green rays jutting out of it. The elf paled even more for he recognized that symbol and more worry crept into his thoughts. “How did they find me? My family..” Those predominated. They knew he was within this region and that thought frightened the elf more than anything. “What could they want?”

The moon elf Glaise stared at Kaienrai with the most annoyed look. They had been training for hours, days, weeks and months on this particular part of his training with zero success and his mentor was getting tired of this.
“Hanali help us” Glaise said exasperated. “FOCUS! Use your will, your heart..everything you feel. Put it into this effort. Reach your goal, you are so close!” He yelled as he willed an invisible shield of force around him. It shimmered in the air almost mocking Kaienrai.
“Purge this!” His mentor yelled at him.
But Kaienrai was tired, and exhausted, and hungry. He just stood there with a sorrowful, hopeless expression on his face.
“DO IT!” Glaise yelled again.
The younger elf steeled himself and concentrated. Not on his annoying mentor, but on the shield. He glared at the shield, felt the weave connecting to it, felt every strand running in and around it.
“BREAK IT!” He heard from what seemed like a faraway place. Kaienrai locked the shield to his will thinking he had it and began to hum softly. He put his soul, his very being into this effort and could feel the power building within him.
Beads of sweat formed once again on his brow and back, soaking his already sweat stained shirt. He focused on each strand of the weave binding this force shield together. He hummed louder now, feeling the momentum rolling in him.
“DO NOT FAIL IN THIS. DO NOT BE A FAILURE IN YOUR HOUSE!” Those words echoed especially strong and he faltered.
“DON’T STOP!!!”
“I’M TRYING!”
“YOU ARE NOT TRYING! YOU ARE WHINING!” Glaise yelled at him.
Anger began to cloud his focus. The efforts of the last months of trial and error caught up to him and he could feel the weave..the shield..slipping from him. Exhaustion was taking him.
Sensing his young trainee succumbing, Glaise focused harder now on maintaining the shield and began mocking Kaienrai.
“Failure. You are going to fail your mother. Your brother. Your House. FOCUS! The time is NOW!”
Angrily Kai thought of those words and focused harder. He gripped each strand of the weave and forced his will into pulling the strands apart. Anger, rage, song, heart all focused in this one effort. His head began throbbing but he pushed the pain aside and focused on the shield.
THERE! He could see the faintest strand, the hardest one. The one connecting this force shield to the lifegiving weave. Glaise felt Kaienrai’s will surround the spell and gasped. “DESTROY IT!” He yelled.
With a resounding voice he willed everything he had and severed the shield spell surrounding his mentor and it dissipated into thin air. Glaise staggered back against the wall and Kai fell to his knees, panting, weak and exhausted.
After what seemed like hours, he felt a tired but proud tone in his mentors voice. “Rest now my pupil, my friend. The song of dissonance is taxing to anyone. Seek Reverie and know the achievement you have done this day.”
---------------------------------------
The memory faded away and Kaienrai found himself again near the Misty Forest riverbank, in tears.

Freedom…
Liberation…
Not looking over my shoulder after every corner. Such a GOOD feeling!
I have been spending the better part of a season, indeed, since arriving here to the Sword Coast under some alias or moving as inconspicuous as possible. In some ways I was successful, in others, I failed for “they” found me. I was paranoid since that day in the farmlands of Baldur’s Gate. I was worried. I was scared. I rejected the free will the All Father blessed upon his children. I let myself become a shell of the Elf I once was.
But no more. The guidance and mentorship of the Dharashan Elders have shown me that one cannot live running. At some point, we all stand and fight. But we do not have to do it alone. When we stand together, we stand strong with the full blessing of the Seldarine. That fateful day at the tower of the Archmage, perhaps preordained by the Seldarine themselves, has shown me that together we can weather storms, we can raise forests and we can create harmony. Each brings something to the rest. The thickest of strands support the thinnest and together the thin grows thick.
And now, is my time.
No more hiding.

It has been some time now since I have received these…items…currently in my possession. I have done well in masking my fear of walking openly, but I can only hope that I mask my worry just as well. No sendings, nor return messages or contact of any sort. As positive as I try to be, only the worst of scenarios play on in my head. The horror of not knowing is eating at me and something must be done. And done soon. I must find closure even if I have to journey to Silverymoon myself.
