Previously the consensus was that anyone could RP a pregnancy if they wanted to, but they had to RP it for the full duration.GENERAL SERVER RULES (MUST READ)– The Server, Forum and all interactions are to be rated Teen. Sexual encounters, graphic or extended nudity, gratuitous violence and torture, ERP (Erotic Role Play), and especially rape are strictly prohibited. Pregnancies are forbidden unless directly supervised by a DM, resulting from DM-authorized Role-play. Miscarriages are strictly prohibited. Pregnancies are a form of "retiring" a PC for the duration, and resulting children are NOT to be Role-played. Any caught violating this rule are subject to being permanently banned. All Player Characters (PCs) must be created and Role-played with the minimum age of 18, for Human, and the equivalent for all other races.

This change forces anyone wishing to take the next step in their character's RP'ed romance to retire their characters. It's essentially a ban on pregnancy, a thing just as natural to the survival of any species as eating food to stay strong and healthy.
I don't get it.
There are several players already who are RP'ing a pregnancy, some of them only just starting, others are months into it. What's going to happen with their characters? Are they to be banned or do they have to terminate the pregnancy RP and retcon all the RP?
What about the timeline? Is it fair to prevent a player from playing his or her character for upwards to 25 real life months (some elves) to stay with the timeline? Humans only require 9 months, but that's still a long time to not be able to RP a character. Where does the character go for all this time?
I can understand the miscarriage part. That can be some heavy RP that'll leave many in a foul mood or worse, I'm sure. I'd even go so far as to say that once someone gets pregnant, they receive a stamp that says "no capture/abuse RP", to prevent the distaste I'm sure many would have in their mouth from violent RP with a pregnant woman - RP that, without a pregnancy, would be perfectly fine to have.
What do the rest of you players think?
I for one am baffled by this and don't understand the reason for it. It seems too restrictive.
