Background:

Born in Silverymoon into a respectable halfling family, Fortinbras Hornblower spent the first part of his life between an old bookshop in Northbank (where his father worked as a clerk), and the Dancing Goat inn (on the other side of the road), whose atmosphere - colourful and filled with music and dancing at every hour - he learnt to love more and more as time went by.
Always an avid reader, he also learnt to play several instruments thanks to the teachings - and patience - of the musicians at the Dancing Goat, thus becoming proficient enough to be one of the few halflings admitted into the House of the Harp as a fellow bard (albeit extremely inexperienced of the ways of the world outside Silverymoon).
After some time, he began to experience a sense of inadequacy when confronted with other bards, whose travels all across Faerun allowed them to collect stories, songs and experiences, in a way the limited (despite rich and stimulating) environment of Silverymoon could not hope to match.
Having eventually made up his mind, he seeked the help of friend of his, a swashbuckler who had been a regular at the Dancing Goat for several years. While learning how to fight, he also felt the need to complement those skills with a deeper understanding of magic. In this matter, the bookshop played a decisive role: a fortuitous meeting with a student of The Lady's College, who had entered the shop looking for a rare book, gave Fortinbras the chance he was looking for.
Once he felt comfortable enough handling both (obviously small) weapons and spells, he bought everything he needed for an indefinitely long journey, said goodbye to his friends and family and left Silverymoon.
This was the beginnig of his adventure - filled with danger, excitement and DDOS attacks - on a path that would finally take him to Baldur's Gate, the renowned library of Candlekeep, and (most importantly) books waiting there for his eyes to read.

P.S. I hope you will forgive my english, which happens NOT to be my first language.

P.P.S. The first letters of each paragraph, if put together, form the word B-A-A-H-O-T. It may seem meaningless.
If and when anagrammed, it will remain meaningless. Bite me.

Entry #1: I have finally reached Baldur's Gate. My pockets are empty, I will need to scrounge some money, maybe take some odd job.

I came here to work
And take up the rope
Give contributuion
In this land of hope
I'll bleed for your king
I'll die for your queen
Give all and some more
To your western dream
Locked in the ghetto
Waiting for news
Standing on the corner
With those immigration blues
