How to lose a sneak

Ever needed to shed a sneak who's been following you for days? Here are a few helpful tips and perhaps others could share some if they dare.
1. Turn off your scry location.
2. Have high detection skills- This can be achieved in a variety of different ways with investment in listen/spot skills, equipment/weapons, and wands like clarivoyance, owls, and amplify.
3. Try random teleports- If you have good IC reasons to be paranoid, try loosing potential pursuers by once in awhile teleporting to a random places. Hard for sneaks to pick up the trail after that unless they are real crafty and have trace teleport which is very rare.
4. Try random alarms- Try to do this in remote areas otherwise it will drive you crazy as people run over them repeatedly. Every five or so screens, I'll drop an alarm ahead of myself to see if I'm being tailed and don't know it. Best place to drop an alarm in a narrow passage so the pursuer has little options to bypass it and continue scouting you out.
5. Shedding- Everyone knows a friend who can spot and listen for a gnat on a rats arse. Go to them and shed your pursuer like a snake sheds it's old skin.
6. Doors!- Doors are your friend. Instead of metagaming transitions, everyonce in awhile step into a pub or inn and find a room quickly and shut the door to wait it out. If the door opens on it's own, you caught yourself a spy lurking in the shadows.
