This has happened so many times to Star that she no longer surprised at it. Once again, here she stood in a place she'd been not around people she knew not. Once again the gods saw fit to bring her to another realm.... The Forgotten Realms. Baldur's Gate to be exact.
"See now.Its happened again. I wonder what my master would have me do this time," she wondered. "I have done several task and none of them seem to be last one."
Star walked down a well travelled path where, of course, she gotten several stares. Her pale green skin and pink hair made her stand out no matter which plane of existance she was. Star had been to hundreds of planes each starting the same way.
"Let me guess,"she said to herself as she sat by the empty fire pit. "I won't be able to start this fire using my natural talent because once again I have to relearn how to use my abilities." Star reached forth her hand over the pit and visualized nature forming a fire for her warmth.
Nothing.
She tried again and only a small spark formed below her hand. She threw the spark in dismissal "Barely enough to temporarily blind someone."
A commoner came by and saw what she was doing. This was the first one to ask what everyone else wanted to know. "... My pardon but just what are you?"
"Well what are you?" Star asked in return and smiled.
"I'm sorry. I guess I was being rude."
"Trust me, I get it all the time. Let me guess. Your wife doesn't have pink hair?"
"Actually I'm not married but I don't think anyone has pink hair. Hence, my intruding question.... uh" The man shifted akwardly "I'll excuse myself now. By the way. Most people call me Doc." The man began to turn around and leave.
"Star." Star said just in enough time to stop Doc in his tracks. "They call me Star Da-Mai" Star could have gone into further detail. She was sure he wanted to know more like about how she got her and her partial aasimar heritage. She was sure she wanted to know about her olive skin and piercing eyes but she did not go into that at all. "I somewhat consider myself a daughter of the forest."
"So that's what you like. Are you like a druid. A lover of nature."
"Yes, a lover of nature and druid. However my friend why don't you sit down and hear my tale... for I am far much more than that."
