so a bit of introduction here:

my most played char is a Sorceress. for the first years i never bothered with why she is one because that did not really matter for her backstory.

a year or so ago some other PC made a very good remark that it is probably due to a dragon ancestry, so good in fact that it made me roll with it.



now i wonder:

does the type of dragon matter? can i read it up somewhere?

what i mean is:
does an evil dragon necessarily have evil ancestors or at least those that tend rather to their alignment than others?
or would, say, a copper dragon give other traits to its Sorcerer-decendants than a blue one did? personality wise or in terms of power?

or does it not matter and i should just roll a dice to decide?

The above link has a bit of description about each of the 10 draconic blood lines and even other kinds of bloodlines.

Of course, it has to be treated like a Variant, meaning not everything applies in the base setting/BGTSCC setting. However, it does give one pointers to follow. I personally tackled the physical aspect of Silver Dragon bloodline for Hoihe, making him far taller and stronger than the average man (statuesque).


In terms of power, I believe that certain heritages make learning certain spells easier (usually ones related to the ancestor in varying ways).

In terms of personality, I'd say it would work like having the other supernatural heritages, one would have a predisposition towards certain actions and traits which they can ignore or overpower. In the Red Dragon Disciple's description, it is stated that they can be good or evil, despite the Red Dragons being the vilest of the 10 basic dragons.
