and again... these are not the authors thoughts but those of his toon xD

Forsun finds himself stringed up in a series of events. He tries to see through the veil and connect the pieces of the puzzle he finds. You can regard this thread as talk of the town if you want.

"Among the maxims on Lord Naoshige's wall, there was this one: "Matters of great concern should be treated lightly." Master Ittei commented, "Matters of small concern should be treated seriously."

Ghost Dog, Hagakure, the way of the Samurai

Forsun had just been preparing himself to enter the dwarven compound. There this rash wizard apeared. It looked a lot like he had just fled the structure. He was eager to have Forsun acompany him inside again. Very wary of the jaluk, Forsun finished casting his wards and entered inside.

At first everything apeared to go well. Until scores upon scores of duergar came from all sides. They seemed to be aroused by something else than the two drow hunters. They managed to dispatch many half men until they finally decided to leave the compound, A host of duergar on their heels.

Forsun and the wizard hid in invisibility and watched the scene unfolding. A great ooze was waiting outside the compound and just as the pursuing dwarves exited their compound they were engulfed into the masses of slime.

Still wondering about this scene Forsun gazed an even stranger sight. A sturdy looking dwarf dragged in the remains of his dwarven brethren into the compound. The drow decided to follow the Duergar around the compound. Still in hiding. The wizard had disapeared by now. Probably horified by all the strange occurences.

Inside the sturdy duergar and a battalion of duergar with a strange mark were battling the local denizens. None of the dwarves got killed. But they were all knocked out and dragged to the compounds entrance, where they were bound up.

Finally recovering what was left of his courage Forsun decided to talk to the duergar. Still invisible and wandering from shadow to shadow he tried to communicate with the strange rogue duergar, who hunted his brethren. It didn`t apear as if the dwarf would understand the drow and Forsun didn`t know dwarven as well. The duergar now had decided to ignore Forsun and proceeded with their buisness. In a moment of distraction by local wildlife Forsun lost the track of the caravan that had now exited the compound. Strange foreign dwarves and bound duergar alike.

This wouldn`t do. He could not run out into the wild looking for some dwarves. But Forsun was curious. Who was that tall duergar that had single handedly knocked out every duergar in the compound? Were it illithid thralls? Had the illithids finally decided to enslave the compound duergar as well? He couldn`t know yet. He would have to meet people. Ask questions. He would need someone who would speak dwarven.... and possibly a tracker.

Sensing an opportunity to earn some gold, Deloth rises from the darker corner of Gloura's upon hearing the end of Forsuns tales and songs and trails him to the bar.
He offers the bard a drink and a quiet word about this curiosity and how he can offer his eyes and ears in service.

Pylia steps up to the bar and orders another round for the bard.

"I see a tale in the making here" she smiles " I myself do not speak dwarven, until, my magics say otherwise."

"Should you ever wish to make another journey, I would not mind tagging along. Sing a bit of harmony along the way maybe?" She winks and raises her drink in a toast "To tales of times past, so long long ago ... and to tales of the future, where only heroes can go."

Forsun would rather enjoy the attention his tale has got him. Pleased with himself he will tell the story over and over again.
OOC the thread mentioned here is not a story Forsun would relate to anyone. My bad. Whole reason i made two threads was to divide ooc from ic

He would propose a trip to the mines in the near future and invite Pylia and Deloth to join.

After a visit in the Guild Forsun seemed to have found what he had been looking for. Those sellswords would surely know what they were doing. One of them even bragged about being an expert tracker. Just the likes for which Forsun had been looking. He had rather enjoyed the atmosphere after the first rough introduction to the guilds "other" facilities.
That orc sure had strange views on the world but he seemed to have fate on his side...

Upon leaving the Guild Forsun can be seen talking in a hushed voice to several merchants in the market and to patrons of the Gloura`S. He would inquire if anyone knew of the whereabouts of a certain Susuri Oreb lei. He would leave a remark, along with some coins, with those he talks to that he might have a profitable sugestion.

//to everyone who wants to involve himself in this. It is an event of DM Iolaum and i will post dates and details here as soon as i get them

Afterwards he makes a hasty departure from the city. To those who meet him along the way he would make the impression of searching for something or someone. He would again tranverse the mines, alone it seems.

They had met by chance in the end. Upon returning from a long travel Forsun found Sussuri in the Gloura`s talking to some wizard. At first he hadn`t known him. But the jaluk was quick with words and introductions were friendly.
A hunt was suggested and the two of them travelled towards the mines. On the way Forsun told Sussuri of his strange experiences. The drow didn`T seem to put much faith into Forsun`s words at first. Until he saw with his own eyes what had been described to him. Again they had to battle an abmination. Again this menacing, agonizing voice in his head and the feeling of wrongness. Again Forsun had to flee the scene.
He had left Sussuri behind. There was nothing he could have done. Barely had he escaped the harpoon of the vile again. Setting up camp outside the compound he finally dared to enter again so that he might find his presumably fallen abbil. He was badly hurt but standing. No sign of the abomination now.
They went deeper. From afar Forsun spotted the thing lurking in the dark. It had not yet taken notice of him it seemed. He warded every spell on him he had and charged. This time the thing had no time to shoot harpoons. Two drow in battlerage cut it`s body up until no twitching came from it anymore. Sussuri decided to inspect the carcass. He knelt before it and seemed to look for clues. Forsun didn`t bother. He had seen those things before and no good had come out of searching them. After a while he started to wonder. What did Sussuri do all the while. He left the camp and came looking for the tracker. He found him in a solopist state. He did not answer Forsuns questions and did not heed him at all it seemed. Like in a mesmerized trance he still knelt before the remains of the slain foe.
Forsun led him away. This was quite enough. The feeling of wrongness had not left him all the while. It was time to return to the city now. Tavern and drinks. Stories and laughter. They shared a good time. Although the jaluk behaved all too cheefully for Forsun`s taste. Sussuri sugested to visit the weavemaster. Reluctantly Forsun accepted.
"That bloated fool. Of course he was protedted by a deity and the weaver knew it." He had come to be mocked. That was a certain as every outcome of a discussion with a wizard. But the Weaver held power. And hopefully some knowledge...

Forsun spent a lot of time in the city the last cycles. On several ocassions he could be seen entering Lukhorns Gullet, the visits seemed to be rather short. Contrary to his usual demeanor of sticking much to himself and only exchanging a polite conversation on occasion he is now often in company. Some might have spotted him talking to the local gemcutters and inquiring about the possibility of adding precious stones to jewelery. Shorty after a conversation arises, to those who stand near Sussuri and Forsun could be seen speaking. Sussuris words as always too soft for those standing by to understand. But the words of the other jaluk anounced he would be inquiring about the possibility of hiring a golem. Maybe the Weavemaster would know more.

Forsun could not sleep. He was turning around in his bed until the early morning hours. The heavy red wine, still clouding his mind and making his throat feel as if filled with sand. He got up and stood before the open window, pouring a glass of water, hastily downing it.
So much had hapenned the day before. He had met Sussuri in the bazaar from where they went to the fiery pits below the duergar compound. There they had met up with Nawiel and things started to get out of hand from here as far as he remembered. Nawiel and Sussuri had trailed behind a bit so he went further down alone. Prepared to strike anything that would come in his way he made his path through the fumes of noxious gases. He wasn`t prepared what he saw there though. On the narrow bridge arching over the river of lava there stood a dragon. Forsun stopped in his pace. He opened his mouth and let his sword and guard sink for a moment. Tears were rising in his eyes, caused by the fumes from both the lava and the nostrils of the creature.
The wyrm had been talking to him. Or had his senses fooled him? He could not understand what was said but the beast did not seem to strike at the next moment. Warily Forsun had taken a step back and eyeing the dragon from under brows made a low bow and a hasty departure.
„Usstan did naut wish to transgress on your hunting grounds“ he had muttered before fleeing.
Out of breath he arrived back at the camp. Sussuri and Nawiel giving him curious looks about the haunted expression on his face. A dragon? He could see them smile and wave dismissively. Why had it always to be him to stumble unto murderous new creatures...?
They did heed his tale never the less. A night rest in the camp should be enough preparation before taking a look at what lurks below again. But before they could take to their morning meal they heard faint noises coming up from the lower tunnels. Something was aproaching.

The fight was swift and brutal. It ensued not before the dragon had spoken a few words in drow tongue. Sussuri tried to talk to the beast but no assurances for the safety of the city or their own hides were given by the wyrm.
It seemed to have taken interest in Forsun especially. As soon as he had noticed it aproaching he had cast a ward of invisibilty around himself and had hid in a dark corner. It didn`t help. The beast sniffed him out. With his back against the wall, warding busily, he waited for the thing to attack. Nawiel and Sussuri kept trying to come to an agreement with the beast. Forsun couldn`t understand this. He was ready now at last. Warded to the teeth ready to strike. Strike he did. He slashed upon the scaled hide and tried to tear through. The dragon turned on him and tried to grab at Forsun through all his wards. Both they failed. A battle ensued. Sussuri joining in first. Much to the displease of Nawiel, it seemed. How it had come to an end. Forsun didn`t know. He had tripped on a rock and fell on the ground. Loosing consciousness for a minute. Luckily Sussuri had jumped to his side and distracted the dragon from the helpless drow. As he opened his eyes again Forsun could see the dragon in a corner of the hall, obviously heavily wounded he seemed to have his attention elsewhere for the moment. On the other end of the hall he could see his companions slipping into the darkness of a tunnel. He followed them swiftly.

Shivering a little and shrugging off thoughts he closed the window and paced the room. Again he had angered Nawiel. Much to his displease. When he had caught up to the both of them he had seen her limping heavily, held up by Sussuris arms. She was bleeding and swearing at Fosun for being the stupid jaluk he was.
Well, he was not the only stupid drow in city he thought. That jalil, he shook his head in disaproval. Had she not witnessed the tensions in the Gloura`s dining hall? Had she not heard the threats uttered by the Spiderkissers? Maybe she just had had a deathwish. Be it as it may he had told her what he thought about it. How could she start singing songs about the dark dancer here? His thoughts trailed back to events past. He shrugged, packed up his belongings and made out of the Inn. Heading towards Varellas. Alone again.

"It is said that what is called the Spirit of an Age is something to which one cannot return. That this spirit gradually dissipates is due to the world's coming to an end. In the same way, a single year does not have just spring or summer. A single day, too, is the same. For this reason, although one would like to change today's world back to the spirit of one hundred years or more ago, it cannot be done. Thus it is important to make the best out of every generation."

The lithe drow male sat on the window sil dangling a leg inside the room, his back leaning against the window frame.
A silver kukri rested in his lap while his eyes strayed between it, the spell dazzled glow of the city outside and the female figure deep in reverie on his bed.
Was he imagining or did the scowl of her anger at him the previous evening still play across her lips?

He shock his head slowly, perhaps it had indeed been unwise to tease that raving zealot female of House Dev'lin, and as his gaze fell on the kukri again he continued his contemplation over what to think of the male singer Forsun.
He had given Sussuri the kukri for no other reason than apparent companionship, a hopeful wish? Or.. were there other reasons?
The cold handle of the kukri offered no answer.

Alas there were so many dark sides to consider.
The vehement proclamation of following path of the Weaver's Champion during the discussion over the not-spiders in Nawiel's former appartments. The anger in his voice when the charming singer Linthre, with those lockets of sunlight, had gotten his ire at her beautiful choice of song. Yet, had there been a timbre of concern for her in the voice as well?
Forsun had professed a relation of some sort to the lustful Sister and..
What was behind the taking of fingers by that male Dev'lin scum anyway, pure malice or some daft cunningness he could not fathom?

Shadows whirled in on him, encircling him in a shroud of darkness as he sat brooding over the puzzle that claimed to be his abbil.

Forsun had claimed being unsure about seeking out the perverted thing known as a Hive mind, yet admitted to having been to the Hive itself before earning the wrath of the illithid and their thralls.
Now, he claimed to consider hiring a golem of all things from the wizards of the Mage School. Was he truly going to do what Sussuri had been forbidden to even witness?
May the Dancer curse those not-spiders!

Wearily he slid down from the window to begin dressing as the new cycle began.

Maybe a premorning workout in the privacy of the main hall would clear his mind.
As sore as his muscles felt from the misfortunate incident with the shapeshifter male it would cost him to do his regular dance, it would be worth it regardless of the perceived pain.

He clasped his weapon belt on and slid out the door.

Eilistraee awaited his act of devotion, or at least it felt good to believe so he admitted to himself.
"Drojal zhah obdoluth dorb'd streeak, Lueth dro zhah zhaunau dorb'd ogglin."
"Existence is empty without chaos, Life is boring without enemies." So sayeth Lady Lolth, Queen of Chaos.

Trade talks! Ridiculous. Everyone could see just how uncomfortable he felt. This was no place for him. But the jabress had requested his attandance and so he stood besides her, while she was waiting in line to see the dignitaries. Despite from the formal atmosphere the mood had been relaxed. Apart from the drunken fool, who chose to aproach the jabress with his impolitenesses. He had shown that one where his place was. The jabress had seemed pleased. A good cycle all in all.

Forsun can be seen entering town at Nawiels side. Both their cloaks seem to have burn marks on them. Forsun`s face shows a green colour around the nose and on his cheeks. They don`t speak a word as they aproach the Gloura`s. Where they part ways. He takes logding in the duergar compound and isn`t seen after.
