I've been looking around a bit about Sylph behaviour and I had a few questions.
My character is a thaumaturge , basically I'm rping the outsiders behaviour.
One is a fire mephit and the other one called a sylph.
With the sylph I run into a bit of a problem.
They are suppose to be 5.3 feet tall, basically slightly smaller than an elf.
The avatar for the sylph doesn't look like this though.
It seems to look more like an oversized pixie or a sprite.
Any advice how to work with this (or that sylphs can be so small), that or they actually meant to call it a sprite or pixie.
Edit:
Any one running into problems as thaumaturge?
My planars just don't work, non of them.

You're mistaken here. That's creature's reach, not creature's height.Calen wrote:I've been looking around a bit about Sylph behaviour and I had a few questions.

Sylph is "Small outsider". Which means at MOST about halfling-sized (+-). 2..4 feet tall (I don't remember which manual lists creature sizes, one of them has table along with jump heights, etc, for every size category), maybe. Bigger than house cat (tiny animal), smaller than human (medium).
If you check monster manual 1 and read entires on pixies, you'll find out that it is as big as pixies and nixies, bigger than grigs and smaller than dryads and nymphs.
Monster Manual II has picture of sylph on page 192. It looks exactly like that - small winged humanoid. (well, neverwinter 2 sylph has significantly uglier face, though)
I played evil thaumaturge for couple of weeks. The only problem I had were related to lack of memorable interaction between people that are not me and my planar cohorts. Oh, and summon ai being dumb and taking too long to switch targets.Calen wrote: Any one running into problems as thaumaturge?

Also, keep in mind that your cohorts can be killed on sight.

Found this about height.

Though I'il take your word for it, checked some monster manuals but can't find anything.
Probably overlooking it.
Cheers for the response though.
Edit:
Found it in the manual, so basically a sylph is just a pixie in this case.

That's homebrewed material, not information taken from official D&D soruces. It does not apply to this server, nwn2 or default d&d setting.Calen wrote:Found this about height.

(Indicated at the bottom of the page - it is in homebrew section of the site).
Here are brief sylph stats. Small outsider. Monster Manual 2 has additional info.
