The wife pulled out some watercolor over the holidays, and I figured, "why not?" give the medium some attention. lol. No wonder I stayed clear of it...IT'S HARD! But, beautiful stuff. I had worked on a drawing of my character Odilon during a free moment one work day, so I decided to take a screenshot and see what I could do for a first try. It's a bit...muddy. And...I did it with 1 size of brush...which is like stupid. Nonetheless, here it is:

I've done a few other drawings "in-character" over the last years. Might as well put them here. It was fun trying to RP a character that had a tendency to draw his encounters. However...I have realized that every character I sketched, was soon to be retired...or the player quit the Server! It is a curse I put upon them!!!

I hope to do some more watercolors of portraits of BG characters, my own and others. Its a nice way to learn the medium.

Had a couple of hours in the atelier before it got too cold and my toes started to hurt. Here is a first step on my dwarf One-Eye Floatstone. And, for those who don't believe it: the toon does have a positive CHA! (take that Karond! )

I want to go for a burnt leather eyepatch, but I have no burnt leather to look at...so I left it rather dull at the moment. Also, I took the screenshot in the Nexus again, so I still have to figure out what sort of back ground to do...other than that soothing blue. Blech. But so far so good (I think). There is a lot more to do. Like that meaty ear, the upper lip issue and the blinded-by-the-light eyeball (needs to be darkened a bit to sit back in the socket).

I hope I can finish this up later in the week after work.

Well, I did what I could to salvage this watercolor from my ignorance of the medium. Improving upon initial mistakes is extremely limited in watercolor, unlike oil, or acrylic. So instead of trying to attempt to fix the unfixable. I'll leave this as it is, and consider beginning another. Or, a creature, or something.
