The Journal of Talindra Wands

Unread post by Gwiston »

By Beshaba's Black Bosom that certainly wasn't how i expected the night to end.
I managed to sneak out and avoid another of Mothers grand balls. I made my way to the Yawning Portal and found i wasn't the only one who had taken the opportunity to sneak out. I spotted the two young warriors Jandar and Morgunn and the leader of our little group of Deep Delvers; Bleys.
Well we could have sat in the taproom and drank Zzar all night but the lure of undermountain proved too much. So after paying our fee we were lowered into the dark depths of Undermountain.
Our goal was to map a room to the north east of the well. A room i suspected to have a secret door hidden in its southern wall. Well i was correct about the secret door. How was i to know it led to am orc lair. Before we knew what had hit us we were engaged with the brutes. My three companions showed their skill with swords. I hung back and used my crossbow to pick off likely looking targets. All was going well until orc reinforcements arrived led by a man who i am sure i recognised. Our eyes met and the next thing i heard was this newcomer uttering a word of power. I found myself running, i know not what direction i rang or how long. suddenly there was a flash of light and then a splash, I found myself in the docks. At first i assumed it was Waterdeep, i was wrong. I had somehow found myself magically ported to Baldur's Gate. Oh joy!

A rather eventful day.
I was browsing the wares in a shop run by a man named Maltz. I accidentally bumped into another customer, a rather dashing young warrior if i do say so. We made small talk and he offered to escort me to the graveyard on the outskirts of the city. I have heard that line a few times but he insisted that the graveyard was overun with undead and that a qizard in the ruins of a crypt paid rather handsomely for undead remains.
To cut a long story short we dealt with the bothersome undead and i managed to pocket a sizeable amount of gold.
I promised to buy this fine young warrior a few drinks the next time i saw him in town. i do hope to bump into him again soon, He could be a useful ally.

well its been an eventful few days here in Baldur's Gate. I have made a number of new friends since my arrival and this has allowed me the opportunity to investigate many locations around the city. Both within and outside the walls.
My last adventure began when i was heading south along the trade way. Just outside the city i noticed some ruins on a hill about a mile from the road. Being the curious girl i am i went for a nose.
When i arrived at the summit of the hill i was greeted by a tall warrior and a halfling lass. They offered to escort me into the ruins...as they knew the best locations to search.
Well we proceeded inside and fought many kobolds. I had to deal with many traps and locked chests. Eventually we went down to the lower level and this is where things got interesting.
During an encounter myself and my two companions were dragged kicking and screaming into the bowels of the earth by giant ants. It appears we had been invited to be the main course at their dinner.
The three of us had to fight our way clear of this lair. I used every potion, scroll and magic item i had to make sure we managed to live. It was an experience i will never forget, nor would i wish to repeat it.
On the bright side i made two new friends. One can never have too many friends
