need help for low level (mage/barbarian..)

hello everybody !
i'm new to BGTSCC..
i got an orc barbarian in UD, and found some place to level up.. ( a bit hard thoo)
but with my surface mage, i just found north farmlands bandit caves (where i can't rest), and the BG graveyard.
the problem there is skeletons & zombies are really stronger than me, even with mage lvl 0-1 buffs.
do you know a place a bit "safer" where i could train/fight more easily ? (kill rats, little creatures low lvl, etc..)
a long time i not played NwN2 (got almost near null RP experience, just a very little), and it's very hard leveling for me.. so if you can help me and give some helps, it would be much appreicated.
Thanx in advance.
(still looking tips/guide forum)

Have you tried finding other players to party with? Levelling is much easier when done in a group. Try to visit various shops in BG as well. Summoning scrolls, polymorph self scrolls and blunt weapons work well in the graveyard. The graveyard is really level 1-3, after that characters usually enter the kobold areas.

hello Karond, and thx for very fast answer.
yes i party up when possible, but in general i'm alone with my summoned wolf.
hard time it is.
so no others lvl 0-1 places ? i explored a bit the "..shore" but not went that far.

The totality of Quests that can be taken and finished INSIDE the city of Baldur's Gate ( plus the Farmlands map, which has 2 Quests there) can net a toon 2000 xp. That should be enough to put your mage at lvl 3. You don't die from Quests! (though damn I wish Quests were that way...sometimes

)
From then on, you shouldn't be as weak.

As a low level mage? Yes, you have to.
If you do all the quests in BG, without dying, you get 2100 XP total. That's enough to put you at level 2, with 900 XP to level 3. Easiest way to deal with the bandit cave quest is to buy one or two scrolls of Invisibility in BG.
In the beginning you do not want to use your summon anyway. It is not powerful enough. If you want to kill stuff on your own, you should get a quarterstaff or a sling. Then buff yourself with Mage Armor + Shield.
Shield won't last very long, but if you take Extend Spell on level 3, it will last 6 minutes, which is long enough for your rest cooldown to come off anyway.
If you don't want to kill a lot of stuff on your own, then you have to party up and accept that, for the time being, you are only there to provide the fighters, rangers, and paladins with a bit of extra armor.

Get a crossbow for the wolves in the farmlands. If the cave is too difficult, kill the wolves etc outside of it. Run away often and rest to heal yourself.
Rest areas are quite restricted, its a good idea to pay attention to such early.
As others have said, get a blunt weapon for the graveyard and a sling with bullets.
Idea is to get 1-2 hits on them before they close in on you, at which you change to a melee weapon.
Gather enough pelts/undead remains to be able to afford usables. Scrolls of Mage Armor, Prot from Evil, Shield etc are all very useful and low cost and will help your AC a lot. Some people prefer to use a summon and then buff it up instead.
We have all started there at some point, it may feel difficult but see it as a challenge to overcome. There are many tools to get you through it
mireigi - Invisibility scrolls are not sold anywhere

This is why I said INSIDE the city!

Hmm, could have sworn I've seen those scrolls in the shops. Maybe I'm thinking about Sshamath?

that's what i do in general, i use shield and restauration(?)("JdS in fr" buff).
then i summon the wolf, give it armor and restauration too. and use the staff of acid.
for protect alignement -> evil (got this spell), do it protects against undeads ?
btw, i can't use both mage armor and shield. it's one or the other it seems.

Invisibility scrolls are not sold anywhere; any you find are most likely sold by fellow adventurers. A friendly neighbourhood wizard might be happy to scribe a few, though.
Alternatively, there's fishing. It's a (mostly) safe way to gain experience and money with the drawback of being numbingly time-consuming (talking in hours), a fishing EXP cap of ~1250 that resets per server reset, and being far slower than mass genocide when it comes to leveling.
Also you can use both Mage Armor and Shield. MA's bonus is classed as "armor", while Shield is...well, a shield bonus. They will stack.

thank you ladies & gentlemen for all those helps !
ah ! i don't speak very well... i mean : i'm good in grammary etc... but got a poor vocabulary, so maybe it's hard too *emotes this* or *this*...
and,
if i got anymore questions i will post here, to avoid multi topik...
btw, even with an half-orc on surface, barbarian, they hit me hard to death even skeletons & zombies.

The wolves and bandits in the farmlands can take you to level 5 safely.

well.. yesterday, somebody given me some gold to help me, and also a staff of acid.
but this spell sometimes miss... so i just bought a staff of "projectile magique". and it hits 100%, i can fight better now, and passed level 3
through, even with many buffs, when there is 4+ monsters attacking me.. i sometimes got to run away.
but it's less harder with that staff, definitly ! love it
