A Call for Scouts

*A poster is put up at both the Friendly Arms Inn and on the noticeboard just outside the Elfsong Tavern*

Are you a scout or woodsman who fancies yourself a Protector of the Land? Need some work, but don't know where to start? Here is the chance for you! We are looking for able-bodied lads or lasses willing to aid us during our patrol to the north. Our aim is to watch out for any undead incursions en-route from Warlock's Crypt and to give due warning to the southern lands, should any undead threat be sighted there. If you are interested in joining our services, please contact Celduil by leaving a message by the Shrine of Chauntea, located just north of the Baldur's Gate bridge.

Celduil, Northern Ranger.

The notices are probably rained on by this point

A note is left at the shrine.

"The undead are a blight on this land. I shall offer my bow to see them removed. I travel the lands, and seldom in cities. Leave a message at one of the shrines of nature and I shall get it.

Ara"

"Let me know when you need help Celduil

Mendel"

The ranger then leaves, informing fellow rangers about Celduils call for aid

A slender figure dressed in weathered but insulated clothing, is seen reading the flyer posted near the Elfsong Tavern. After reading, he looks around to see if someone recognizes him reading and considering it. Seeing no one, he leans against the poster board, leaning his quarter staff against it as well, and waits...a practiced patience that shows something of his character, and his profession.

None seem to recognize him...but he seems familiar with the environment of the City, appearing relaxed—even with the general nervousness that surrounds all within this district, as some cough out loud and some travel with masks over their mouths, against what seems a sickness among the people. He stands so still...some do not even notice him...as if he would hide in plain sight—another aspect of his character, to be realized.

Time passes until the one that has posted this flyer, would arrive to check upon it.

*After Mendel reads her the notice as she follows along then watching his reply ... Nai comes back a little while later, pulls out a piece of hide from her pack and a charcoal tipped stick that she's been practicing writing words with and after about the third or fourth try seems satisfied to leave the piece of hide with her writing on it. Attempting to copy the others, she even signs it at the bottom.*

A note is left at the shrine.

"Hello Celduil,

if time allows it, I'll be happy to help you.

Ven"

A crude handprint of blood is found covering the faces of statues dedicated to nature shrines, throughout the lands.

Some rangers can been seen around the Shrine of Chauntea. One of them cleans the face of the statue with a bucket full of water.

*Having seen a notice posted at the Shrine to Chauntea, Cranston makes the one day's journey west along the foothills from Kheldrivver searching out the appointed campsite. Leaving little trace of his passing and avoiding contact with any until reaching the meeting place*

Shynt, Mendel and Nai, meet early in the morning at the Dala'Haera of En Dharasha Everae. Packed light with only the essentials for a scouting mission, they are well prepared for the journey ahead of them. Taking the eastern paths in the familiar to them Misty Forest and avoiding any Orc patrols along the way, the group gets to High Moor. From there, they travel south to the Northern tradeway where they set camp to rest. Once well rested they head west along the foothills from Kheldrivver. After a days travel, the group arrives at Celduil's camp and inform him of their arrival.

Celduil does not make an appearance at the shrine. If someone saw her standing there on their way past, they could choose to tell her what is going on.

Any attempts to contact Celduil are probably going to fail, as he is out of the region. (Depending on how the contact was made).
