Auction House Ate My Shoe?

Hi there.
I was selling a pair of boots on the auction house for ~7.9k. I forget the item, but it was fairly noteworthy (I couldn't use it, hence the forgetfulness).
I hadn't sold it yet, and when I went to click the 'retrieve' button, I only received back a dagger that I was selling, but not the (more expensive) pair of boots.
Any ideas here?
Thanks!

No, that system has been pretty rock solid as far as systems for the game go.

You might want to check in with DM Bloodlust, I happened upon a wee incident the other day with the auctioneer, and he/she was going to try to deduce what happened from my ramblings. I'm not suggesting Bloodlust knows anything definitive, but it might be worth mentioning in case

For future reference I will write what I said in a PM; sometimes the auction house 'holds' items and you can get them back like a week later, completely randomly. I recall seeing such reports before.
Other issues arise when someone has changed the character name, which was not the case here.

I found this thread while, searching if someone else had the same problem. I have recently experienced the same issue. I few days back I placed a Dwarven Razor at the auction. It is no longer listed, received no coin for a sale nor has it been returned to my inventory. I will wait because...well I have no other real choice and hope it magically gets returned after some time.

I once put up two identical items for sale, at the same price. They were either sold, or whatever. either way, I never got the cash or the items back.
So now I price them differently... probably just superstition.
And I do know of one way things can go wrong. I can't go into it because it may be exploitable if people wanted to grief or steal from the auction.
Speaking of holding items... Jand Auren, my main merchant, can only sell one thing at a time, because the auction always says he has 2 things at auction, and still said it after a four month hiatus where there is no way there was confusion.
