He looks to be an elderly man in his mid 50's. Though in his age hes still quite beefed up. He usually wears his priest robes or his monk vestments. He stands about 6' 2" tall. All over his body are tribal tattoos that actually go even under his trousers. They are jet black in color. On his back though you can tell that there are newer tattoos over them of lotus flowers. There are 5 in total that you can see. Two on his head and three on his back. There are actually a total of 7 of them. He has a bald head and well kept white beard. He keeps it trimmed and short.

Personality Profile:

Josephus seems to be a laid back guy who has seen a lot of stuff. Hes had a dark past and says it quite loudly. But now he seems to be trying to walk a better path. He usually seeks to spread the wisdom that hes gained from his past. A light is worthless if you cant shine it to light up a path for those that are lost.

Background:

Joseph Keirgan grew up on a farm in a small village in the Dales. His farm specifically was on the edge of the Cormanthor Forrest. After his father passed away the farm became his. He was in the militia but he rushed home to take care of his fathers wish's. Soon he got married and and had kids. It seemed like the perfect life.

But one day when he was off trading in the city his farm was attacked. By the time he got home there was nothing that was not burnt. The horror of the sight is something that will never leave his mind. When he got to his house he saw his wife and his two kids strung up on a tree branch. There bodies were horribly burnt. The only clue that was there was the body of a black skinned elf. This sent him on a very dark path. He started out with drinking but after he lost the farm it got much worse.

Soon he came across a man who told him he could give him the power to both protect those that would be victims of the drow in the future and also get his vengeance. Hes always been an incredibly wise man. This started him on the path to becoming a War priest in the Church of Bane. He rose up the ranks quickly. His name was feared everywhere. Hooded Menace was on this lips of all that opposed them. But when he wasn't spreading the fear he was actually gaining quite a lot of friends.

One druid in particular was actually quite decent to him. After all he was mostly just a guard protecting the people. As the wars heated up the Zhentarim began to make dealings with the drow. This sent him on a rampage. A rampage that ended in burning the pendant of the Black Hand that he wore around his neck. The followers of the black hand seemed to take offense of this as did the black hand himself.

He took refuge with the very people that were at war with him. The elves. His druid friend talked with him quite a bit once more with the path of nature. After a lot of thought he chose the path of Eldath. One of balance and enlightenment.

Now he seeks to bring serenity and peace to everyone that crosses his path. He seeks to protect the sacred places and to help solve violent conflicts. Half in order to pay penance for everything hes done but mostly because this is what his family would want. He seeks to make them proud and he still has time. His past isnt something that he should just forget about. Its what made him who he is.

Goals: He seeks to pay penance for all that hes done. And thats alot of blood. He wishes to shine the light that he was shone by his druid friend to all those around him. There is no evil, only those that are lost. He is a Peaceman. Seeking to help out with violent disputes. And to protect nature. He also helps out those who fallow Sylvanas and Meiliki.

Possible Plot-Hook Ideas and Misc Facts: He was hunted by the Zhentarim and the Church of Bane. But not sure if they would know that well up by the gate. But his tattoos are definitely banite and he doesn't exactly try to hide them.
