Anyone got class idea's for a character with 10 shadowdancer?
I'm looking on something that can actually utilize its class skills since rogue doesn't seem to mesh with it at all aside from sneak-attacks and HIPS (Which assassin does worlds better.) For a while the shadow worked nicely to get a tank to stack sneaks off of, but now it just sorta flops in and dies.
Would Monk be viable as a shadowdancer? Or Swashbuckler? Does anyone have any build idea's. I've thought of spellcasters, but their skill limitations makes it harder to play off the skillful portion of the class. Race is moon elf.

Deathgrowl plays a 20 Rogue/10 Shadow Dancer. Its not as powerful as your standard 16Rogue/9Assassin/5Invisible Blade, but it does well. A Dex based Monk seems like another good option. Or maybe even a combination, 11Monk for greater flurry and 9 Rogue for some sneak dice to make up for the lacking damage? Damage might be a bit low with kamas.

Or even a 2hd fighter/WM. http://nwn2db.com/build/?218668
It doesn't have a lot of damage, hips comes very late too. The skills aren't fantastic either. I would probably recommend a medium weapon so that you can use a shield up until you get HIPS.
It doesn't have epic dodge either. You would have to sacrifice a fair bit of damage for it. Power attack is where your damage is coming from in this build so you can't really pick up weapon finesse.

Cool thing about shadowdancer10 is that you get all the feats you need for Epic Dodge through it. So you can make weird things like this:
http://nwn2db.com/build/?218681
Which will do quite well, I think! Each arrow doing 1d8+4(eb bow)+4(fighter feats)+3(str)+5(arcane archer)+2(bard inspiration) = 22,5 average. 45 average on manyshot. That's fine! Also handy self-haste. And you have a very defensive archer with epic dodge and hips! Isn't that cool!

Re: Shadowdancer~
My biggest concern with the monk was that it doesn't really fit the chaotic nature of a typical moon elf that I enjoy playing up.
The weaponmaster looks interesting, I always wanted to play a HIPSing fighter-type. Though right now I'm experimenting with the Swashbuckler, since it seems to seamlessly fit in with the Shadowdancer's abilities (Augmented for this server, shadow evade will be very nice for the first bit while you lay in the strength and con debuffs. And you can more firmly take advantage of a successful shadow daze.
With my initial build trial, I had room to get epic TWF and epic dodge, it has a solid AB and AC and much more survive-ability then the rogue, while maintaining a steady means of debilitating and killing opponents (Though the numbers haven't been impressive so far, but I guess you don't need huge amounts of damage when your low-damage crits take enemies to 0 con fast.) I have a little bit less hide/move silently then the rogue end game, but overall still fairly good (About 45 base in each)
lol@bardcane-archer-dancer. That is pretty wild!

Here is another possibility : http://nwn2db.com/build/?120349
That's the best parry user I could make, in a 1v1 in melee it's near invulnerable, parry + epic dodge + good AC = come at me bro
It is however pretty bad against anything that has spells but you can always hit and run with HiPS to deal with those .. slowly.

Re: Shadowdancer~
Shadowdancer 10 is a very strong defensive character due to HiPS, Epic Dodge and Shadow Evade (+4 AC, 20% concealment, 10 Adamantine DR) but the main problem is where to find damage.
You can mix it with 10 Rogue levels for Epic Precision and some sneak attack and take it from there. Personally I don't think it's worth it, but it can make for some original builds.

Re: Shadowdancer~
thats always the problem with defensive builds
my 10 SD hin has 15 rogue and 5 IB, feint with PTWF does pretty decent damage and as long as what you are attacking doesnt have DR then the bleed from IB works wonders also
one could easily go 20 rogue for more dice but i like feint mastery and making people bleed
