Drizzt book reading
I've been reading through the drizzt books, and I'm wondering if there are other books that tie into the series, and if so at what point and order to read them in? I'm currently reading "road of the patriarch". And I'm hoping I started them at the right time

The dark elf trilogy is Drizzt's origin story. I don't know how many you read so far, but it starts there and moved onto the Crystal Shard.

I've read up to the hunters blade trilogy, the thousand orcs. Haven't started -the lone drow yet, I wasn sure but I figured I would read the trilogy with jarlaxle and Artemis, on the second of those

Well, since he is still writing new ones you have a few to sift through yet.
Homeland, Exile and Sojourn is the first triology, with Homeland containing quite a treasure within its pages on the subject of how drow "normal" society works.
As for the rest, well I believe there are closer to thirty novels by now what with the Vengeance of the Iron Dwarf (companions codex III) being released lately.
I was somewhat wrong: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Legend_of_Drizzt
Artemis, Gromph and Jarlaxle still making guest appearances.
Enjoy the good stuff.
/M
PS: Still hoping for some Regis stew, I just cannot stand the character old or renewed.

I know of two. There are probably more than that though. One you have already mentioned is the Sellswords series (Artemis Entreri books) and the other is the Cleric Quintet, which centres on Cadderly, and introduces Ivan and Pikel. It's good to read CQ before Hunter's Blades.DreWalker wrote:I've been reading through the drizzt books, and I'm wondering if there are other books that tie into the series, and if so at what point and order to read them in? I don't like the Hunters Blade Trilogy, particularly The Lone Drow (book #2).
PS. this thread probably belongs in the community section.

Re: Drizzt book reading
+1, but nothing about drow in it. Which is sad since there is a surface temple of Lolth in Thay
Drizzt has his moments, in particular in the between years, but most of the other recurring drow in the novels about him are more likeable this is true.
Speaking of drow novels you might want to read these if you havent DreWalker:
War of the Spider Queen sextet
Windwalker triology
Ascendancy of the Last triology

Re: Drizzt book reading
Before you read the War of the Spider Queen, I'd recommend reading 'Daughter of the Drow' series
OH! - and this can be read at any time, but 'Evermeet: Island of the Elves' has a lot of stuff about Lolth and drow in it!

Re: Drizzt book reading
Archmage was a good transition read and Lolth is as ever such a dear homicidal sweetheart.
Gromph, arguably the most exquisite evil wizard in the forgotten realms.
Evil doth not always mean berserk.
If Jarlaxle and Lolth got children together id be worried for the safety and sanity of the realm.
Catti-brie buildwise is starting to frustrate me, then again writers do have their priviliges.
Yes thats right Drewalker, they printed another one.
PS. This one is for dwarfcharmers too.

Re: Drizzt book reading
Currently reading Archmage and now about halfway through. I heart Drow.
Edit: I hope the "powers that be" some time in the future collaborate to create a Gromph/Szass Tam epic tale
